The Vice President will focus on Capital Solutions within the New York Global Financing Solutions group which is part of the Debt Capital Markets team in HSBC’s Americas region.  The Debt Capital Markets franchise is the one leading areas of growth within HSBC’s Corporate and Investment Bank.   The role includes deepening relationships through content-led strategic client dialogue.  The role will require someone with a track record of engaging with corporate and financial clients, institutional investors, rating agencies, and relevant regulatory authorities.  As a Vice President, Capital Solutions, such person will be responsible for supporting the team in the origination, structuring, and execution of hybrid capital solutions for financial institutions and corporate clients.  

Responsabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead client engagement around capital strategy across insurance, bank, and corporate sectors
  • Develop new ideas and structures to foster innovation in the capital markets
  • Work closely with coverage and capital markets partners as part of the key client service team
  • Drive origination and execution of capital securities and other structured financing transactions
  • Collaborate with HSBC global colleagues to support the creation of solutions to customer needs that span geographical/product boundaries and regulatory environments
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business
  • Assist and oversee the preparation of relevant deal-related and non-deal related marketing material
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate and institutional clients to understand respective financing needs and objectives
  • Synthesize market observations and developments to identify relevant themes for clients, staying abreast of relevant emerging themes in and regulation related to capital securities
  • Bring a natural curiosity, collaborative approach, and critical thinking skills to drive business 

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $250,000.00 and $275,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, MBA or advanced degree a plus
  • 7-10+ years of experience in capital markets or banking
  • Demonstrable deep understanding of capital securities and knowledge of market, investor, and regulatory developments
  • Proven ability in deal origination and execution combined with a deep knowledge of debt markets, rating agency methodology, and the regulatory landscape
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and an understanding of fixed income products
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines and have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and to develop innovative solutions
  • Adaptability, able to manage projects independently and be ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner
  • Experience in training junior bankers
  • Strong team player, promotes collaboration and teamwork with others by encouraging others to participate and acknowledging others’ contributions
  • FINRA series 63, 79 and 7 licenses are required. Manager can allow a contingency period to obtain licenses at their discretion
