  • Global Business/Global Function - Fraud & Credit Services (FCS) is a first line of defense control function in WPB, with the core purpose of supporting the entire customer credit journey and creating sustainable outcomes for the Customer and the Bank.
  • Fraud & Credit Decision Systems (FCDS) under WPB FCS is responsible for the delivery and support of the Credit & Fraud risk management tools, systems, and data across HSBC WPB. The team also serves as a Decision Engine Centre of Excellence (CoE) for multiple Account Originations/Management and Fraud Risk systems and supporting the Credit Bureau Management. We facilitate the deployment of credit strategies through our decision tech eco-system. The team would need to interface heavily between the Information Technology team and Business end users.
  • The core functions include strategy deployment, data validations, process improvement, system documentation, providing consulting, guidance and delivering comprehensive risk management platforms to support risk management intelligence, analytics, MI generation, and ETL along with data management.

The Opportunity:

  • The role holder will need to ensure adherence to compliance and regulation for FCDS function, manage migration activities as per GCS guidelines, BCM approval and documentation, perform resourcing and financial management via tracking, reporting and system updates, facilitate resource onboarding activities.

What you’ll do:

  • Managing all compliance related to Business Continuity Management (BCM), SMS tool on periodic basis which are essential to keep all services compliant to GSC policies.
  • Work closely with FCDS Workstream leads, GSC compliance, MCM team and business contacts to work on GSC Migrations.
  • Managing Data Visas for various services by working closely with work stream delivery leads, local RC, market RC and market stakeholders.
  • Strategic Cost Management - work closely with business FCDS Workstream leads and Finance team to ensure robust cost analysis and proactive cost management. Managing monthly cost recharges using SD static and taking care of teams cost tracking (budget v/s Actuals) and maintain an active cost forecast with markets.
  • Workforce Management - Work closely with FCDS Workstream leads in the team to review and submit the monthly headcount for recharge in the Billing tool.
  • Monthly tracking of billing MI with a view to forecast vs actuals.
  • Work closely with Finance team for any anomaly related to monthly billing/chargeback.
  • Actively manage other cost aspects for the team including Travel Costs, Relocation Cost and other costs related to FCDS function.
  • Role requires active collaboration with FCDS work stream leads, to know the function and key priorities and help with all the above tasks.
  • Assist with the Financial Resource Planning (FRP) and update of organizational structures and charts as required.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen to develop effective cost tracking.
  • Vendor management – Facilitating on-boarding of new joiners by creating their PS id, VDI & RSA access, keeping a tracking of billing hours of contract workers. Keeping track of their BGV, contract extension etc.
  • Communications – facilitate communications within the team.
  • Ensure regular desk instruction manual (DIM) is updated to latest processes.
  • In addition to business management accountabilities, this role will have the opportunity to support PMO function and help with delivery oversight across portfolios subject to bandwidth availability.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

  • A thorough understanding of the purpose, values, culture, and fundamentals of organisation
  • Knowledge of the HSBC environment – Regulatory, FIM, Compliance, Data Visa Policy, Policies and practices
  • Exceptional Analytical skills with business analysis aptitude. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations.
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of MS Excel with macros, MS Power Point, MS Word. 
  • Exposure of annual Financial Resource Planning (FRP) and Billing Processes/systems
  • Exposure of Workforce Management at function level
  • Knowledge of PMO Domain is a plus.

Others

  • Min. 10+ Year of relevant experience. Bachelor’s or master’s degree from reputed university with specialization in numerical discipline
  • Experience in Compliance and Regulatory standards, operational risk controls, policies, and practices.
  • Proven ability to work across cross functional/regional teams to drive outcomes.
  • Demonstration of financial acumen and understanding of cost chargeback

Soft skills

  • The role holder will need to demonstrate analytical and stakeholder management skills in order to be successful and will require coordination across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and build relationships.
  • Collaborate with partners across business groups, evaluate emerging techniques that may contribute to existing analytical capabilities and computational models.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success.
  • Maintain the level of communication/interaction across the team and direct manager including onshore business partners.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is advantageous.
