The Opportunity:

Provides technical consultation and ongoing production support for complex technologies, special and major projects. Possess extensive and specialized technical knowledge in the Business Systems area, which include applications development, business analysis, research and development, and systems integration for business systems. Coordinate individually or provides team leadership as required in projects to support technical and business strategies.

What you’ll do:  

  • Developing and supporting DevOps automation including automated testing and releasing.
  • Interpretation of business requirements from a technical perspective.
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation e.g. system overviews, architectural docs, user manuals and support firefighting guides.
  • Performing peer code reviews.
  • Support SIT / UAT cycles for defect fixing.
  • Active participation in planning and rollout of large scale releases.
  • Provide technical consultation to development team members with guidance of department principles. Lead teams or projects of high complexity. Initiates and conducts feasibility studies of new and modified business requirement.
  • Provide technical analysis and solutions to business issues, provides consultation, researches and implements technical alternatives, and maintains awareness of business technology strategies.
  • Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Provides daily global production service quality, problem and recovery management, and platform availability, facilitating changes and identifying risks.
  • Manage large or critical projects as assigned to ensure objectives are met on time and within cost while continuing to utilize technical expertise. Assist in defining and delivering global and strategic technical projects. Identify and address interfacing functions and applications affected by projects.
Requirements
  • 8+ Years Development Experience in IT development.
  • The technical requirement mainly involves:
  • Programming Language: Java, J2EE, Python, UNIX/Linux/shell scripting
  • Technology: Kubernetes, Apache Beam, DevOps Tools such as Jenkins, Ansible and related CI/CD technologies.
  • Clouds: GCP dataflow, GKE, Alibaba Cloud
  • Database: Oracle (or equivalent).
  • Development Management Tools - Agile Toolsets, e.g. Confluence / Jira / GitHub.
  • Spring & Spring Boot, Restful API development.
  • Proven and progressive experience, including English communication skills and Agile skill are required.

What additional skills will be good to have? 

  • Background in financial mathematics / Computer Science Background.
  • Experience with Jupyter notebooks.
  • Experience with a variety of API’s and Messaging Types– REST, SOAP, JMS, Solace / XML, JSON.
  • Interested in business problems.
  • Fluent English oral communication.
