THE JOB:
Manager Special Payments assists GPS Operations Head in ensuring the smooth operations of the Special Payments services, focusing on matters relating to handling of Cheques, Bills Payments, and related regulatory reports. The jobholder shall also drive the Risk and Control initiatives of the Onshore GPS Operations and maintain an arms-length management of the key risk and control projects that are being pursued in partnership with the GSC.
  
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures that all cheques deposits are performed properly i.e. National Network Collections, Integrated Receivable Solution, Post-dated Cheques, Cashier’s Orders.  This entails post-transaction checking and constant monitoring of all required cutoffs from the Special Payments staff.
  • Ensures that all reports as required by both internal and external customers are properly prepared and submitted according to service standards; serves as direct liaison with concerned parties if necessary.
  • Ensures that controls for the warehousing of post-dated cheques are properly implemented and in compliance with necessary guidelines, and that requests for pullout of post-dated cheques are accurately completed within agreed turnaround times.
  • Ensures that necessary system maintenances and verifications procedures are performed and posting of erroneous cheque deposits are avoided.
  • Takes action to improve current processes performed within the team to improve the performance of all staff handling WPB, WSB and GPS-related transactions 
  • Ensures that COS over-the-counter cheques with third party service provider are balanced.
  • Update all management information as required to be able to monitor the performance of the Special Payments team.
  • Timely and effective monitoring and implementation of key actions to address MSIIs, Audit Finding, BRCM findings, etc.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledgeable in WPB, GPS and WSB products
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledgeable on risks concerning operations and vendor management and outsourcing policies
  • Background on branch operations, clearing operations, banking operations, payments operations
  • Successfully complete all global mandatory training courses and post course assessments
