We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Product Owner, Brokerage Platforms & Trading based in Singapore to develop the HSBC brokerage capability globally. 

Principal Responsibilities

Role Overview:

This role is responsible for the definition, design and execution of client-led Brokerage trading within the Global Capital Markets business. 

In this role you will

  • Define and own the global brokerage strategy for cash equity and delivery roadmap for wealth clients
  • Execute the Brokerage Acceleration strategy and create a distinctive client-led trading brand proposition
  • Primarily focus on building out the brokerage trading business focused on cash equity and listed derivatives. Knowledge and Coverage of emerging technologies and products such as blockchain, tokenization, digital assets will be a strong asset
  • Ensure alignment with regional business priorities, local regulations, and platform capabilities across multiple jurisdictions
  • Facilitate working groups within regional markets to identify demand that require consideration within the localized Brokerage solution
  • Actively manage risk and control environment, ensuring resilience and regulatory compliance, - Navigate multi-market regulatory regimes (e.g. MAS, FCA, ASIC, SFC, DFSA, SEBI)
  • Collaborate and build effective relationships to support the proposition e.g. Local and Group Marketing, Customer, D&A, Proposition, Strategy, Strategic Partnerships, Technology and Digital
  • Investigate platform-related issues and work closely with IT, operations and our external vendors to identify root cause of issues and propose & drive the implementation of tactical fixes and long-term solutions
  • Deliver commercial performance and growth as committed in HSBC financial plans, including revenue growth and cost management 
  • Track KPIs such as active traders, order volumes, execution quality, revenue, latency, and client satisfaction
  • Maintain strong awareness of external industry trends, competitor approaches and strengths, and Identify innovation and partnerships to differentiate HSBC from competitors
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Experience in mid to senior role at a bank in an investment product development capacity within equities, listed product market infrastructure or Digital Assets
  • Established track record of project and financial delivery within large financial services organizations, especially with external partners
  • Experience in leadership at specialist brokerages, bank-brokers or fintechs is well regarded
  • Knowledge of market trends in relation to equities, blockchain, tokenization and digital assets is a strong asset
  • Membership and/or participation in industry forums is well regarded
  • Proven people management track record essential
