Join our innovative and dynamic team at Global Payments Solutions (GPS) as a Solution Architect within our GPS Client Implementation & Integration team. At HSBC, Client Implementation & Integration play a critical role in converting Global Payments Solutions offerings into tangible value for our clients, ensuring satisfaction and creating a foundation for a lasting relationship.

 The Solution Architect (GCB4) is responsible for gathering a detailed understanding of the client’s technical and operational requirements and translating this into a design that delivers a robust and effective solution, aligned to the clients business objectives, typically aimed at treasury transformation and payment/collection efficiency.

Role overview

  • Undertake requirement gathering, design and documentation of detailed solution designs that ensure clients can seamlessly integrate new channels, products, and services into their operations.
  • Continuously look for innovative ways to add value for the client and promote HSBC’s world class implementation and integration experience
  • Apply comprehensive capability knowledge and experience of GPS payment, liquidity, collections, and digital integration (H2H, Treasury APIs, SWIFT) to deliver solution designs that meet both functional and non-functional (i.e. operating hours, cut-off times, volumes, weekend processing) client needs, and can be implemented in the timeframe required
  • Proactively identify capability gaps on bank and/or client side that will influence the success of the implementation and provide alternatives where necessary during project execution to derisk the delivery
  • Keep on top of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitor offerings and changes in payment regulations to support your advisory and problem-solving capabilities
  • Apply experience implementing treasury transformation projects, sharing learnings and best practises to guide development of solutions and inform the implementation plan
  • Be available to the Project Manager throughout the project lifecycle to consult on risks, issues, dependencies, project planning and testing approach including test case definition
  • Liaise with Product Managers and Technology SMEs as required to support solution design activities, establish strong internal network to support client success

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include

  • Facilitate client workshops to understand their business goals and current pain-points across treasury, payment and collection processes. Drive a line of questioning to clients to uncover opportunities for optimization, automation and faster integration of information to support decisions and actions. This may include TMS or ERP upgrade.
  • Support pre-mandate and RFI/RFP requests, providing GPS Sales and/or clients with technical expertise to develop appropriate solutions and proposals   
  • Finalise product and technical solutions post-mandate, elaborating the statement of work to reflect a comprehensive via of the solution to align client expectations and implementation plans
  • Work with the Project Manager to inform the project plan and identify potential risks or dependencies
  • Cultivate and nurture strong, trusted relationships with clients and third-parties through open and proactive communication, demonstrating an understanding their business needs
  • Manage a varied portfolio of complex, global projects, including piloting new products/services
  • Feedback to the GPS Product and Digital teams on the competitive market landscape and client specific requirements, to help drive product enhancements and developments

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $75,000.00 and $158,100.00.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • A subject matter expert of Global Payment Solutions capabilities across payments, collections and liquidity, and their underlying systems and processes
  • A subject matter expert of HSBC Digital channels and their underlying systems and processes. Knowledge of domestic payment clearing, international rails and industry standard formats i.e. ISO20022 is key
  • Knowledge of industry changes and project management/transformation best practises
  • Strong experience working in customer facing roles, tailoring solutions to various client sectors
  • A track record of delivering large, complex and global change for clients
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with ability to adapt style and approach to the audience (break down technical or complex problems so they can be easily understood by stakeholders with less technical understanding)
  • Additional languages are an asset
