We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Head of People, Philippines.
This team leads the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with our business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession planning, and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.
Role Purpose
The Head of People leads the People function for the Philippines and partners with the country CEO and Executive Committee to drive business performance and organisational change through the development and execution of the People Strategy.
Principal Accountabilities
The main responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic HR advice and guidance to the executive team in the Philippines
- Leading a team of HR professionals to support the business and deliver the people agenda
- Steward, challenge, advice, monitor and report on People Strategy execution and operational Human Capital matters.
- Collaborating with regional HR Centres of Excellence to support local business needs in delivery key people objectives
- Ensuring adequate operational control and risk management principles and strategies are in place
- Executing relevant HR strategies in line with the global people agenda and respective business strategies while ensuring compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements
- Lead all relevant employee relations/engagement, related regulatory and compliance matters and the management of Human Resources operational risk.
- Supporting the business in driving engagement by embedding the tools to drive a superior employee experience, support employee engagement, and developing strategies to ensure organisational culture strength, leading and driving culture change
- Ensure the effectiveness of key succession plans and effective executive resourcing to move talent and high performers into key leadership and key contributor roles.
- Drive change in the Human Resources function to bring about improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency that delivers superior colleague experience.
Qualifications
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the role holder must have:
- Solid HR experience and a demonstrable track record in managing HR operations and processes gained through exposure and experience in large corporations preferably from financial services
- Strong HR professional with vast work experience across all HR Pillars especially in Employee Relations, Performance & Rewards, Governance, Talent and Succession Planning, Organizational Development.
- Strong knowledge of local labour law principles and practices and sound experience in managing regulatory constraints, employee and industrial relations
- Ability to work under pressure in a matrix environment with competing and conflicting demands
- Project management and/or change management capability
- Demonstrate commercial acumen and understanding of the business, balancing it with HR priorities/initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and communications skills to manage effective stakeholder relationships
- Excellent people management skills in leading the HR team
- High level of personal integrity and values in line with HSBC core values
