This role will play an important role to support the management and enhancement of the Group’s capital resilience.

The Opportunity:

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of Group Capital Resilience within Group Capital Management under the Group Treasury. This role will monitor and manage the Daily Balance Sheet and RWA Dashboard, provide analytics to management on regular intervals and help to improve the Group’s RWA forecast accuracy. The role holder will also support other initiatives to enhance capital resilience and efficiency, to add value to the business and increase shareholder returns. 

What you’ll do:

The role holder be a part of Group Treasury within the Capital Management team and will be responsible for monitoring the actuals Daily Balance Sheet and RWA’s for key entities. The role holder will work across a number of disciplines within Capital Resilience, and report to the Capital Analytics Team Lead. On a day-to-day basis, for functional matters, will have a reporting line to the Head of Capital Resilience in London. Responsibilities include:

Manage and monitor the Daily Balance Sheet, include:

  • Addressing the Balance sheet mismatch issues by coordinating with relevant site accounting contact, FCD or other relevant team(s).
  • Ensuring the Qlik has all level of GRCA details to ensure correct Balance Sheet reporting.
  • Recognising month-end true-up adjustments in Qlik based on reports from Saracen and Qlik, ensuring validations compliance in Qlik.
  • Ensuring Reference Data Maintenance, including cost center mappings, new codes mapping, allocation mappings, etc.
  • Enhance Daily Balance Sheet & RWA reporting process by identifying areas for process improvements / re-engineering, driving meaningful change in the quality and timeless of results delivery.
  • Push forward collective understanding of the key drivers of daily Balance Sheet and RWA movements. Providing high quality financial commentary to Head Capital Resilience on regular intervals.
  • Ensuring that the outputs are of a high quality, reflecting accepted internal policy and standards.
  • Work with Business Finance teams to monitor and report RWA forecast accuracy.
  • Support the Stress Delta Management Program, which entails analyzing stress test results and measuring stress delta contribution by each global business against agreed stress triggers.
  • Support peer analysis.
  • Work within the Capital Management team to identify efficiency initiatives, investigate feasibility and support in implementation.
  • Other initiatives within the Capital Management team, as required.  These may focus on capital resilience, efficiency, capital performance, ad-hoc analysis or be broader in nature.
Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

    • We are looking for an individual who has knowledge of accounting/financial reporting, capital requirements or has experience in analytics within financial services. More specifically,
    • Finance/ treasury / risk background, with knowledge of accounting, capital requirements and market risk.
    • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. banking and relevant market/context, i.e. Capital management, Capital reporting, regulatory experience, PRA experience.                   
    • Good Understanding of balance sheet and risk weighted assets.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience with handling and interpreting large and complex data sets. Comfortable to huge data points spreadsheet and able to ‘tell the story’ is a must.
    • Experience with the Group’s financial reporting systems, such as Saracen, TM1, and RCT.
    • Experience of using emerging technology (e.g. Qlik) a plus.
    • Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered. 
    • Demonstrates a strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments and new challenges.
    • Able to deliver to tight deadlines, react quickly when required.
    • A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analyzing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting.

    Qualifications :

    Qualified ACA /CA/ Management Accountant / MBA / CFA with experience in Finance, Treasury, Corporate Finance and Banking. Significant operational experience (e.g., 6-8+ years) within Treasury/Capital Planning or Financial Reporting will be advantageous.

    Experience:

    • Finance/ treasury/ risk background, with knowledge of accounting/financial reporting or capital requirements.
    • Highly numerate with strong background in mathematic disciplines.
    • Understanding of banking products and how they relate to capital requirements. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
    • Ability to work with, co-ordinate and influence a wide range of stakeholders.   
    • Good understanding of, and ability to pro-actively manage, risks.
    • Able to deliver to tight deadlines, react quickly when required.
    • Appetite to seek opportunities and work beyond the immediate boundaries of the role.

    What additional skills will be good to have?

    Knowledge of software development and ideally some experience in coding.
