We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.
In this role, you will:
- Working closely with the Pods and BAs in the initial stages of the project and apply analytical skills to understand the business requirements and change requests. Translate those requirements into a clear and unambiguous manner for the test resources (Developers, BAs and the QA Analyst)
- Working independently and as part of a team to design, develop, test framework and enhance and align with development activities.
- Lead technical solution and implementation for products
- Managing design, reviews, integration with various hosts and Production releases.
- Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases.
- Understand data needs for testing, liaising with the PM/support teams and relevant parties for data, batch requirements.

- Participating proactively in team retrospectives, suggesting and implementing improvements.
- Ensure the testing of delivered code is both timely and of quality to meet HSBC standards.
- Liaise with the Tech Lead to highlight risks and issues and to ensure automation achievements are reported.
- Following HSBC development methodologies to ensure successful project delivery with strict adherence to coding practices and the production of all necessary documentation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Expert on concept of BDD/TDD, working experience of writing BDD Feature files, writing Test Scenarios and Cases as per high class Industry Standard
- Develop Testing Strategy for application and releases strong hands on experience on Automation Testing, knowledge on Test Data Management and related tool sets
- Working experience on developing Test Data very strong experience of working in Agile Team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken) – comfortable with detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage own time ability to work on own or as part of a team Ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution.
- Tools-Selenium/Cucumber (or similar), Karate Java, SQL, Git / GitHub, Jenkins.
- Working with devops tools Jira, Confluence, Maven, Sonar Qube etc.
- Should be able to guide team members in all technical aspects and security tools adoption
- Development experience in Agile environment, working experience of development activities using Java based technologies, experience with Enterprise Java applications gained through several projects, working experience of managing environment and build / deployment activities.
- Unix, Windows, experience of automated build, deploy tools like Ansible etc., good understanding of managing and building CI/CD pipeline and DevOps principles, you’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
