We are seeking a high calibre professional to join our Global Commercial Banking team as an Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives and Implementation.

You will be one of the key business delivery partners under the Parental Support Framework (PSF) Remediation Programme, which is mobilised to address regulatory requirements over the next three years at a global scale. This Programme has strategic importance to the Wholesale Business as a key enabler for our ambition to be the preferred international financial partner for our clients, including supporting financing needs of international subsidiaries. The Programme has been sponsored by Business and Risk senior management, including Global Head of International Banking, Head of Global Banking Credit & Lending and Global Chief Corporate Credit Officer.  

You will represent the Global CMB business and act as voice of Relationship Management (RM) community to shape and influence target state frameworks, by proposing and advocating efficiencies and simplification in business processes, procedures, controls, data, and systems. Your success in this role, in turn, will enable RM community to understand, use and apply parental and third-party support arrangements with accuracy and ease during the credit & lending process, ensuring the most optimal financial outcomes and efficiency for our clients. 

Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

•    influencing how we risk assess, price, and manage our international clients and connected client groups
•    identifying and proposing opportunities for RM simplification, market competitiveness and return preservation while shaping policy and legal frameworks, processes, and controls
•    contributing to the design, development and implementation of the target state and engage with the frontline at regional level to understand nuances in local markets and industry practices to ensure they are appropriately catered to in the design of the target state
•    surfacing and highlighting pain points and inefficiencies with the existing end-to-end PSF process (start of client discussion to final documentation) and propose effective solutions
•    contributing to the review and challenge process to identify gaps between the current state and target state in business processes and controls
•    providing support to the frontline with their client outreach activities as part of remediation to address these gaps to future proof implementation
•    designing and delivering training to RM community across all 50+ markets

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

•    progressive and proven core banking skills with frontline experience, preferably in International Banking
•    strong understanding of Global CMB business, international banking proposition,  strategy, products, and portfolio
•    strong knowledge and experience of HSBC credit, lending, rating assessment processes and PSF & its usage
•    effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to share complex information in a clear, concise, and accurate way
•    strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with ability to foster strong collaborative partnerships across functions and regions
•    an analytical and critical thinking approach to their work
