You’ll have an impact on bringing digital-first banking to our customers by defining the future state architecture vision and strategies for our Global Businesses and Global Functions.

 

You’ll be developing business, data, software, and integration architecture standards to manage processes, systems, and technology complexity across the HSBC Group. Through dynamic, agile collaboration you’ll work closely with business partners to translate their requirements into integrated solutions that can be deployed globally using consistent service patterns for ease of deployment, support, and enhancement.

Enterprise Technology is the Technology organisation responsible for the design, build and ongoing maintenance of the systems owned by the Group Functions (Risk, Compliance, Finance, Core Banking, Corporate Functions and Deputy COO). The organisation consists of over 8,000 people working in collaboration across 14 countries, to support over 3,000 applications.

The Core Banking Decomposition Enterprise Architect is responsible for Leading, defining and maintaining the technology strategy and implementation roadmap for the decomposition strategy for Core Banking.  This includes leading the definition of strategy for the modernisation via decomposition of the technology estate.  Their primary stakeholders are CIO’s, Platform Leads, COO/CTOs, Business colleagues, and fellow Architects (Enterprise, Platform and Portfolio).

The accountabilities are defining, owning and maintaining the decomposition blueprint aligned to HSBC strategies, and providing overarching Design Authority accountability. Core deliverables are:

       Leading and owning the development and implementation of decomposition blueprints (e.g. strategy, principles, standards, patterns & roadmaps)

       Engaging with their primary stakeholders to influence strategic investment decisions and technology outcomes

       Introducing new ways of working, products and services and / or technology capability against identified use cases, via the appropriate governance bodies

       Providing design authority for technology and design decisions and leadership of architectural governance and controls

       Identifying opportunities and threats in the technology industry and articulating potential impacts to Core Banking at HSBC.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

·         Must have previous, proven experience working on a Core Banking Transformation programme

·         Previous experience leading a migration process

·         Proven experience of building scaled solutions with the consideration of quality attributes as a primary rather than secondary consideration

·         Identify key system architecture components, propose and help teams build solutions that unblock deployments.

·         Ability to interact at executive level within the business as well as Technology is critical to the success of this role

·         Capability to influence and champion new ideas and technical direction within the organization

·         An excellent communicator with ability to translate strategies, planned and managed approaches, methods and tools and operational plans globally.

 

This role is based in Sheffield and offer hybrid working.
