Wholesale Credit & Lending (WCL) adopted a Value Stream model as part of the Group-wide Digital Acceleration Programme. Wholesale Credit Risk Management and Analytics Transformation (WCRM&A Transformation) and Wholesale Credit and Lending Services (WCL Services) teams are combined into a single Value Stream, incorporating both WCRM&A Transformation and WCL capabilities. 

The WCL Value Stream is responsible for delivering high priority programmes to simplify, digitise at scale and automate the credit and lending journey, as well as supporting the creation of a new, globally consistent credit and lending organisation serving both GB and CMB business lines which collectively build towards our vision of becoming a leader in digitally enabled domestic and cross border lending across network, by improving customer experience generating competitive advantage through use of data and participation in emerging borrowing models. The Value Stream construct allows us to focus on a single set of aligned objectives, collaborate to deliver our target architecture while maintaining the effective delivery of credit and lending services.

We are seeking an experienced and technically sound individual to join this team in the role of Global Oracle Product Owner.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the product vision, strategy, roadmap of what is to be built by collaborating with the wider global and regional stakeholders and communicating to the IT, Change and BAU teams.
  • Lead and influence the design of Features and Epics, which are broken down into smaller stories within the product backlog in a prioritised order to be built by the Agile delivery teams.
  • Ensure other IT product owners, Vendors, and Product delivery managers understand all requirements, and they are planned for delivery.
  • Ensure that the product meets the HSBC quality standards and cover all bases with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance and other supporting areas.
  • Ensure that the product is fit for purpose within different regions and adapt as necessary to enable global rollouts.
  • Working closely with the IT delivery and architecture teams to ensure that the solution is fit for purpose and meets the product requirements. Provide feedback for improvements in an iterative delivery model.
  • Working closely and influencing the business architecture and business analyst teams to ensure the product meets the Target operating model and process flows and adapt as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Programme delivery lead, to prepare a product roadmap that aligns with the overall portfolio transformation strategy and portfolio roadmap.
  • Lead and develop a team of colleagues to ensure product and project success.

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should have:

        Proven Product Ownership/ Project Management experience in a complex global environment financial services industry.

        Proven ability in leading technology teams using agile methodology is essential.

        Experience in Credit and lending within commercial / global banking is preferred but not mandatory.

        Experience in basic Financial Accounting is desirable.

        Experience in Facility and Collateral Management processes and how this aligns to the wider system architecture is mandatory, this will be required to convert the old architecture onto the new DCP/Oracle Platform.

        Strong decision making and problem-solving ability is essential.

        Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical matters effectively with senior leaders in Compliance and business sponsors.

        Requirements gathering experience and conducting design activity with a mix of business, operations, and technology-focused products/ projects.

        Strong negotiation skills with effective written and verbal communication skills and an attention to detail.

        Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within teams and to deliver on time, adept at prioritising in a fast-moving environment.

        Proven ability to rapidly develop subject matter expertise in a range of technical and non-technical areas.

        Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems.

        Experience in managing resources using appropriate communication, delegation, and planning skills.

        Ability to motivate and lead people, employing appropriate management styles.

        Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective.

        Ability to work with IT teams to deliver on tight schedules.

This is a hybrid role based in Canada Square, London.  There is an expectation of some international travel on at most a bi-annual basis.
