The reconciliation and control role covers the activities of PBRS (Switzerland) and PBLU Nostro (Luxembourg). It includes some funds and securities activities, although some of this has been outsourced to Manila.
The role primarily surrounds ensuring that items passed on correspondent, custodian and fund administrator accounts are properly reflected in our books. Reconciliations is a safety net to ensure errors in operational processes are detected where other controls fail. Staff must work closely with operational staff to ensure that any discrepancies or anomalies are quickly addressed.

What you will do:
- To drive efficiencies within the department by proposing enhanced work methods, improved organization and better tools.
- To escalate strange or unusual activities within the reconciliations function to the Department Head.
- To participate in and support change related user acceptance testing and business resumption activities.

In this role you will:
- To ensure reconciliations are performed for correspondent accounts, custodian accounts and fund administrator positions and oversee the activity of other staff. To validate that records agree with the banks books. To ensure that open items are allocated to appropriate business units and to drive down their resolution and to obtain background into as many reconciliations processes as possible.
- To ensure internal and technical accounts open items are appropriately managed as above.
- To substantiate and certify the nostro cash , suspense and technical accounts
- To verify that securities Vault positions agree with the bank’s books and records.
- To fulfil any additional service requirements
- To support team members into the BAU , onshore and offshore team, and to provide clear guideline
- To investigate Funds breaks and provide appropriate documentation to booking team to close the breaks
- Ensure DIM and Procedures are up to date
- ·Highly reliable. Actively challenges the role, does not just accept things the way they are, but always aims to understand and drive improvement.
- Solid understanding of reconciliations and a very good background of the various reconciliations processes and types, ensuring polyvalence. Good banking knowledge and continual enhancement of this.
- Fully respects and follows the Bank’s principles and values. A role model to other staff.
- Conscientious, hardworking and result oriented. Self-motivated and proactive with the continual aim of achieving high performance. Methodical, autonomous and adaptable.
- Undertakes processes and controls effectively and accurately. Works very well under pressure and to agreed deadlines.

- A strong team player, working very closely with operational areas towards resolving outstanding items. Actively cooperates and builds rapport with others. Good communication skills and information sharing.
- Strong knowledge of spoken and written French and English.
- Very good organizational skills. PC literate with a good working knowledge of excel and word, Outlook, the Internet, Avaloq and FDMS
