Being part of HSBC in Spain, you’ll help evolve and grow our business.

At HSBC Spain, we are part of a trusted international organization, offering a full range of banking services to Corporates, with the purpose of opening up a world of opportunity for our customers and employees. By joining our Global Network Banking (GNB) team, you can be part of this and contribute to it. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible. We need talent like you to help evolve and grow our business.

The Relationship Management role provides dedicated relationship management to a portfolio of customers with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. This role will have external and internal stakeholders (among of which may include Sales, Product Development, Risk & Compliance teams).

What you will do:

• Support Head of GNB and manage a diverse portfolio of clients within Global Network Banking Spain, holding end-to-end accountability for relationship management.
• Own and develop key client relationships, ensuring consistent coverage, strong client engagement, strategic dialogue, effective coordination across stakeholders to support client needs, and effective delivery of banking solutions to improve income generation.
• This role sits at the heart of HSBC’s strategy – acting as a key connector between our client HQs and the rest of the international network.

In this role you will:

• Build on existing relationships, as well as setting up new long-term relationships with customers that align with our business model and strategy
• Build deep client understanding and develop effective strategies to manage customer relationships, anticipate customer needs, originate opportunities and provide a superior quality service
• Monitor relationship profitability regularly and ensure that the return is commensurate with the type of client and aligns with both the Bank’s and the client’s risk appetite
• Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders, both locally and internationally, to identify and match customer needs with relevant expertise and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
• Lead deal teams through end-to-end execution, prepare structured credit memorandums (reviews, new money, ad-hoc) and establish an effective working relationship with Risk and Capital Management teams, to validate the accuracy of the customer risk profile (optimizing facility utilization, raising early warning signals on potential credit issues…)
• Manage financial and non-financial risks (including Financial Crime) in partnership with stakeholders, meet all deadlines, uphold Code of Conduct/HSBC values, and adhere to structures and processes in place for the management of credit, operational, reputational, and regulatory risk.
• Help build the HSBC and specifically GNB brand through clients, internal key stakeholders across our network, external trade and business bodies and consultants.

You should apply if you have:

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal capability, with a proven ability to inspire, influence and negotiate effectively with both clients and colleagues.
• Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs by matching a broad range of products and services.
• Experience in managing business transactions, ensuring smooth execution and consistent delivery.
• Strong credit assessment/analytical skills and strong financial analysis capability
• Highly organized and results-driven, able to plan effectively, prioritize well and follow through with tenacity to achieve outcomes.
• Share HSBC values, being a strong team player and acting with integrity and honesty.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.

Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if you believe this role is right for you.
