The Credit Operation functions would include all the pre and post approval activities viz. Preparation of Credit Application, Facility offer Letters, Verification of Security documentation and Loading and Maintenance of Limits and Securities in Transaction processing system.

The Opportunity:

  • Ensure compilation, preparation and processing of Credit Applications in line with the Credit Policies on CARM (Credit Approval & Risk Management) which is a key tool for the management of customer relationships.
  • Prepare and process and Facility Offer Letters (Legal Documents) advising customers on the facilities being availed in line with the Credit Policies and Procedures.
  • Facilitate processing of Post Approval Functions. Ensuring customer limits are released in the Transaction Processing system as per approvals and Policies and procedure with in the LOA.
  • Management of the workflow to ensure efficient operations of the unit
  • To initiate and support business migrations and ensure high quality service to the customer groups
  • Ensure process and procedures are continually reviewed, improved and changes are communicated for effective implementation, which are measured through reduced costs and improved revenue.
  • Ensure that internal audits and measures are undertaken regularly and reviewed in order to achieve / exceed agreed Process and Global Operating Metrics.
  • Drive constant improvement in the quality of service provided to Business partners and external customers.
  • Manage relationship with various stakeholders
  • Act as a leader by motivating the team and focusing on the development of team.

What you’ll do:

The jobholder shall have the following responsibilities: -

  • Ensure the team prepares Credit Applications and Facility Offer Letters in line with Credit Risk policy guidelines and deliver quality as per the set Performance Level Agreements
  • Ensure the team maintains accuracy of data / data standards on Credit Applications in order to ensure data integrity on Group Limit Exposure and Activity Management (GLEAM) System. The primary function of GLEAM is to allow HSBC to meet its regulatory obligations under BASEL 2
  • Complete approval/verification of various post approval activities (Including Syndication). This includes Limit Setup, Loan Draw Down, Fees Collection, Interest Payments, Loan Payout, FEX posting, LIBORs, Banker Acceptance Booking, Insurance Renewal, Collateral Input, Deletion, Registration and Renewal etc
  • Ensure coordination between various departments (pre and post approval, Financial Spreading units)to deliver Credit Applications in line with the Credit and Risk Policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the process related procedures are updated / developed and implemented as per the process manuals.
  • Responsible for training of new joinees on the process
  • Should be the SME of the process
  • Responsible for the process complying with service level agreements
  • Ability to handle escalations and resolve complex process related issues
  • Maintain appropriate interaction with business users to ensure proper interpretation and adherence of policies & procedures
  • Work closely with Business Partner to ensure a proper governance structure is implemented for management of the process.
  • Plan capacity daily and intra – day, based on projections and volume analysis and allocate/reallocate resources across sites
  • Provide clear leadership to the team to ensure team and individual performances against objectives are met
  • Lead by example through service excellence and driving Quality initiatives for improved Customer Service
  • Ensure on-going skill development through effective use of the available tools & resources.
  • Identify and escalate potential show stoppers and provide solutions
  • Develop staff to achieve their full potential ensuring PDPs are undertaken and are effective
  • Create a supportive work environment driven by people centric values
  • Full accountability of the completeness and quality of the application to ensure Straight Through Processing
  • Manage work for quality and ensure compliance with audit requirements for the respective area
  • Achieving Satisfactory Audit Report
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Qualification

  • Candidate should be a Commerce Graduate
  • Good understanding of commercial banking products is essential.
  • Prior experience in Commercial Lending / Credit Services is desirable.
  • To be willing to work in shifts (Night)

Experience

Prior experience in Commercial Lending / Trade Services/Credit Services/Securities Processing (D)

Skills

  • The role is involved in managing the Commercial Banking and Global Market businesses.
  • Role requires high levels of concentration and interpretation of Credit Risk policies, since any incorrect information can potentially impact the subsequent Credit Exposure related banking reports.
  • Relationship management with the on-site teams, Credit Risk and RMs.
  • Good understanding of the Commercial/Corporate Credit Lending Cycle.
  • Need to constantly upgrade on credit related knowledge and policies on an ongoing basis.
  • Whilst Credit Policies are available, the role requires providing guidance to staff on judgement and decision-making during processing.
  • Ensuring preparation of Legal Documents informing the customers of the availed products and services in line with the proposed / approved Credit Applications.
  • Achieve and exceed relevant process targets in line with business objectives.
  • Should be Flexible to work shifts (Night)
  • Ability to build rapport with and relate to a wide range of people.
