The opportunity: Desk Head- MENA Strategic Clients

The role's main responsibilities include acting as primary point of contact for high net worth or ultra high net worth individual clients externally and stakeholders internally and provide services and execute tasks to ensure the highest levels of customer and Senior RM satisfaction in line with regulatory requirements and bank policy. This role supports one or more Senior Relationship Managers to deepen high net worth (HNW) or ultra high net worth (UHNW) individual client relationships and improve income generation through focused business development activities and services.

What you will do:

  • Role Purpose
    •    Focused on the Middle Eastern UHNW Private Banking business in Switzerland, this role will be focused on managing key relationships from a business development and servicing perspective for a specific set of clients 
    •    The role holder and team will be tasked to appropriately manage the following set of cross Middle Eastern clients: i) Relationship Management and maintenance of Strategic MENA clients ii) Providing for appropriate servicing for Key Growth clients together with the Business Head iii) Facilitating transition management of other clients
    •    The role holder will also have responsibility for managing a set of Relationship Officers and coordinating with the respective Client Service Executives in line with the Swiss Front Office coverage set-up, with the primary objective of servicing these key relationships
    •    The role holder will be responsible for all daily operations on the book of clients throughout the client lifecycle from account opening to account maintenance 
    •    The role holder will play a critical role in rolling out the Swiss Front Office coverage set-up, identifying appropriate synergies and efficiencies in day to day operations, all while ensuring appropriate business continuity
  • Key Accountabilities
    Impact on Business
    •    Owning the relationship of and maintain/growing relevant Share of Wallet for identified MENA strategic clients, while ensuring optimal client experience. This includes travelling to the region when needed.
    •    Provide for appropriate servicing for MENA Key Clients, focusing on client experience and minimalizing any operating risks in collaboration with the Key Clients Business Head
    •    Take onus of being the key responsible for servicing this book including providing for expertise in account openings, periodic reviews, daily transaction monitoring and execution (transfer/payment validations etc) 
    •    Play a vital role in the MENA division obtaining its set KPIs and KRIs from a Business/Market Perspective

  • Customers / Stakeholders 
    •    Ensure an optimal client experience for this set of UHNW clients, delivering for a fair outcome while showcasing the best of the Bank’s capabilities
    •    Collaborate and build key relationships with senior stakeholders across the business including in the booking centre (fellow Desk Heads, Market Heads) and in the region
    •    Build strong relationships with 2nd Line of Defense colleagues and all stakeholders across the Bank’s core functions including the Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Client Lifecycle Management Teams

  • Leadership & Teamwork 
    •    Lead by example, demonstrating expected core behaviors and values including teamwork, focus, drive and determination. 
    •    Train and develop key talent under management as well as hold supervisory responsibility for all direct reports
    •    Provide coaching and guidance to wider MENA servicing team across markets in Switzerland
    •    Represent the business in relevant forums as needed
Requirements

You should apply if you have:

•    Proven and progressive private banking experience within a client facing capacity
•    Know-how of the MENA region from a business network, cultural and financial services sector perspective
•    Track record in dealing with complex UHNW clients including solving for routine and unconventional requests
•    Experience in managing and developing teams including recruiting industry talent
•    Strong capability to effect organizational change and enable strategic/sales initiatives
•    Knowledge of the operational procedures and systems within a Private Banking environment
•    Team player with the ability to challenge and exchange ideas and be comfortable in providing feedback
•    Comprehensive knowledge of sector trends and regulatory environment
•    Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills
•    Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across jurisdictions in an effective and timely manner
•    Fluent in English and other languages such as Arabic and French are a plus
