Your career opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) Office. As Senior Manager, Group CFO Office, you’ll be an integral part of the GCFO’s Chief of Staff Office, preparing management reports, supporting key governance and regulatory interactions, and providing executive support. The role holder will primarily support the Director, Office of the Group CFO and the Chief Operating Officer, Finance, Sustainability and Group External Communications (FS&GEC).
What you’ll do
- Draft clear, concise and insightful management updates and papers for senior management and key management committees. Able to digest and synthesise information on financials, strategic objectives and macroeconomic and regulatory trends; communicate highlights and risks succinctly to executives and adapting style accordingly.
- Support the FS&GEC Leadership meetings, shaping forward agendas, identifying priorities, providing effective review and constructive challenge of papers to enhance output, pack production and briefing notes.
- Proactively track and monitor management actions from senior governance committees.
- Provide assistance to support engagements by the GCFO and FS&GEC COO. This includes interaction with the PRA and all other major regulatory bodies, including delivery of strategic regulatory requests on behalf of the GCFO and FS&GEC COO.
- Support the interaction between Chief of Staff (CoS) teams and various senior stakeholders in FS&GEC, interacting and influencing at senior levels of the organisation and with counterparts at all levels of the organisation.
- Provide administrative support to the team as required.
- Agile and ad hoc: Be part of small, flexible team delivering the above activities. Expect a significant level of activities to be agile and adapt to changing internal and external environment.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Experience of working in a Chief of Staff Office or governance role (executive level) is desirable.
- Demonstratable experience of preparing briefings and papers for executive and board level audiences. Has the ability to summarise technical and complex subjects, even when not a subject matter expert, for executive and board level audiences. A high attention to detail is crucial.
- Proven ability to effectively engage and manage stakeholders across various levels of seniority.
- Knowledge of the HSBC Group and its strategy, structures and processes.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to changing priorities, working in a dynamic environment and getting things done. Navigation and tenacity to manage multiple demands at any given time.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
