In this role, you will:
•    The role is to lead and drive the use of technology in the delivery of products to large corporate customers. The role is to be the driving force in technology engineering by providing leadership and technical guidance to teams, to deliver excellent products. This role is pivotal to the success of the Connect Service. 
•    This is a hands-on role; we expect the candidate will be able to lead by example and have practical experience of building services and technical architecture to deliver digital solutions. 
•    Participate in architecture, design and engineering reviews and Provide architectural and engineering direction to technology teams.   
•    Be involved in reviewing the solutions and hotfixes provided by Vendor Product and Evaluate the implementation risks and assist in making appropriate decisions.
•    Be the face of HSBC engagement with Vendor Product team and lead the technical discussions with product.  
•    Identifies risks and opportunities, both technical and business.
•    Works with developers to improve their skills in building, simpler, faster, and cheaper services.
•    Understands and promote the importance of supportability of solutions – availability, performance, monitoring and incident response.
•    Takes accountability and ownership of solutions.
•    Stakeholder management : Be the engineering face of the Connect Digital team for wider stakeholders.
•    Proactively evaluate and assess the gaps in existing DevOps practices and develop and deliver roadmap for fixing the gaps. 
•    Work with engineering and testing teams across all components and drive the DevOps practices. 
•    Have a deep understanding of the existing applications, understand the limitations, prepare strategies for tools adoption and drive them for implementation. 
•    Represent Connect Digital in wider engineering forums and initiatives. 
•    Identify critical technical/performance problems and work on providing solutions to meet the business needs. 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
•    Min. 14+ years in IT, preferred banking & finance domain experience Technically
•    Strong in Java, Spring Frameworks and Oracle SQL, GCP/AWS cloud solutions
•    Exposure to variety of tools and products on DevOps adoption and guide the team to select the right tools in the existing environment. 
•    Strong technical knowledge and understanding of payment processing systems.
•    Leading complex deliveries in large enterprises
•    Focus on continuous improvement and reduce technical debt. 
•    Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and understand their requirements and deliveries. 
•    Represent the team in various internal and external audits.
