The Opportunity:

  • The NFR Utility Team plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite, by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management.
  • WPB NFR achieves this by providing operational risk and control expertise, conducting high quality reviews of the bank's Risk and Control environment, conducting control design effectiveness control reviews on our most key/significant controls, maintaining robust risk governance focused on material risk and issues, and evolving a culture of continuous and consistent risk management. This will be achieved by:
  • Enforcing robust standards for our risk and control assessments and providing feedback to NFR role holders when deficiencies are identified so that remediation activity is undertaken.
  • Supporting Control Owners by conducting high quality and efficient reviews of our control design and performance.
  • Leading ‘deep dives’ and read across activities so sustainable mitigants and control improvements can be identified.   
  • Drive a positive risk culture, raising awareness and understanding of risks, controls, and risk management.
  • Continuously improving the control and monitoring of risk.
  • The AVP WPB Sales Quality role purpose is to oversee the implementation of controls associated with Regulatory Risk, Conduct Risk, and Sales Suitability across all countries in Asia Pacific.

What you’ll do:

Role holder responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the maintenance and reinforcement of the SQ (Sales Quality) and Conduct frameworks, ensuring it is followed by WPB across ASP.
  • Act as a subject matter expert of Conduct and the SQ minimum standards, advising countries on the existing requirements and highlighting issues for escalation when required.
  • Ensure all countries are familiar with the framework associated with Regulatory Risk and support adherence to policies and procedures across ASP.
  • Support the timely production of management information at both country and regional level.
  • Support the countries in rolling out process enhancements associated with both SQ and Conduct.

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Participate in team meeting / team activities and work towards sustaining team spirit.
  • Assist line manager/supervisor with managing day-to-day operations and support peers on process if needed.
  • Acts as a role model for our Group Values and Behaviors (Open, Connected, Dependable), supporting colleagues and customers to deliver superior customer service through these values.
  • Support achievement of team objectives & participate in in development of cohesive teams.
  • Contribute to the creation of a supportive work environment driven by people centric values.
  • Build professional relationships with colleagues in other areas.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, accountancy or in related field. Relevant advanced degree or professional qualification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge on risk roles such as audit experience / risk management and sales process would be preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Good analytical skills, preferably with previous experience on data analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, with ability to deliver good quality output within a tight timeframe.
  • Ability to communicate and deal with complex issues.
  • Well-organized, passionate, and highly responsible.
