Beijing Office (BJO)
BJO is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, facilitate and lobby for implementation of HSBC’s strategic plans in China at Group, ASP and HBCN levels as well as development plans of HBCN's business.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will: 

Exchanges

·       To initiate regular and ad hoc meetings / exchanges for Group/ASP/HBCN management and senior business executives with government entities (at Beijing Municipal level) in our strategic/key local markets

·       To help plan, provide advice and support for Group/ASP/HBCN senior management’s participation in Mainland China’s local political/consultative/industrial/social organisations and associating mandates

·       To involve and support senior management’s engagement with Chinese regulators and government entities

 

  Lobbying

·       To lobby for regulatory approvals/policies (at the Beijing Municipal level) which are important to the bank’s sustainable business growth/development in China

·       To proactively involve in policy making process and exert influence to the best interest of HSBC and the industry

 

Branch coordination

·       To support HSBC Beijing Branch in building up and maintaining relations with key local regulators and government bodies

·       To act as the central point in coordinating HSBC’s lobbying efforts and relationship-building activities, as well as in organising important events, with the aim of securing favorite policy environment to support the Bank's business development in Beijing

 

  Business development and request facilitation

·       To facilitate and provide consultation to businesses on their requests and policy enquiries to regulators and government entities to achieve the best results

·       Leveraging on external resources to expand business horizon and to refer business leads to customer groups, thereby contributing to the bank’s overall financial performance and business growth

 

Brand building

·       To raise HSBC’s visibility and enhance HSBC’s branding/image perceived by government bodies and external channels by actively participating in regulators and government-initiated events and projects

 

External Customers

·       To establish a rapport and strong relationship with regulators and government entities to facilitate the implementation of the Group’s business/strategic plans in China and contribute to the overall development of a long-term favorable position of HSBC in Beijing

·       To proactively identify and develop relationship with foreign embassies, social communities and business chambers/associations

·       To maintain leading and active roles in selective influential business chambers and associates

·       To organize training, visits and other events/activities with regulators and government bodies to build up trust and mutual understanding

 

Internal Stakeholders (Senior management and business)

·       To advise senior management and business executives on protocols and general practices in handling government entities/senior regulatory officials and providing relation inputs to business based on team’s observation, comprehension and experiences

 

Operational Effectiveness & Control:

 

·       Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.

·       Ensure team to strictly observe bank’s Code of Conducts and related circulars, especially anti-bribery and anti-money laundering related policies

要求

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

·       Thorough understanding of Chinese government protocals (solid experience working in government or GR agencies preferred)

·       Solid experience working in banking industry

·       Self-motivated, diplomatic and mature

·       Strong management and people skills

·       In-depth knowledge of HSBC, multi-departments working experiences preferred
