The individual will be part of HSBC Bank PLC Non-Financial Risk (1LOD) team responsible for providing oversight and delivery of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) risk framework for Finance across key sites and sub-Functions within Finance. The role’s critical success factors include attention to detail, data handling skills, ability to create quality Management Information (MI) under pressure as well as devise and implement efficient processes for key deliverables.


What you’ll do
    • Responsible for leading the team and processes covering Financial Control Expenditure for HBCE,
    • Perform, supervise and advise on the exception-based reviews of invoicing ensuring accuracy of tax and VAT reporting,
    • Perform, supervise and advise on month-end processes, including recovery and recharge invoicing, accruals and fixed assets accounting,
    • Perform and supervise Balance Sheet reconciliations,
    • Ensure accuracy and data integrity in the end-to-end financial and regulatory reporting process by complying with the internal control requirements and assessing the adequacy in the changing environment,
    • Continually work on improving the level of automation by working closely within and across teams to identify solutions to improve the timeliness and accuracy of the reporting and minimize manual intervention,
    • Coordinate, prepare and liaise with external and internal audit,
    • Ensure effective communication channels are established and maintained through regular dialogue with key stakeholders.


What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Qualified accountant or relevant university degree, with at least 7 years of experience in Accounting, Reporting, Audit or Financial Control,
    • Knowledge of Tax and VAT requirements and processes, 
    • Understanding of GL systems and reporting software,
    • People management of Finance Team will be a plus,
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (in particular Excel and VBA),
    • Advanced English and French both written and verbal,
    • Confidence to communicate and build strong relationships with finance staff at all levels of the Group.
