Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Asia Wealth Strategy and Implementation Lead.

Principal Responsibilities

HSBC Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) serves customers with a full suite of products and solutions across different segments. Asia Wealth is a key programme driving the growth of the wealth businesses across Asia, spanning across Retail Wealth, Private Banking, Insurance and Asset Management, with the goal to make HSBC the leading wealth manager in the region. The role is responsible for driving the Asia Wealth programme, working closely with the Head of WPB South and Southeast Asia, the Leadership team of GPB, Asset Management and Insurance, the ASP Retail Wealth Team and the WPB Market Heads in the Region. The purpose of this role includes but is not limited to the following: 

  • As the programme manager, support the sponsors to monitor the overall implementation of Asia Wealth Program and wealth management initiatives in the region, and ensure their alignment with the overall Asia Wealth strategy and proposition
  • Ensure proper project governance to monitor the business execution in Asia, with a focus on South and Southeast Asia markets
  • Through regular engagement with Asia wealth markets, support local teams in identifying wealth business opportunities, sharing best practices and collaborating with relevant Global stakeholders
  • Provide input and facilitate FRP discussions across markets, in line with strategic objectives, and act as a point of contact for implementation of new capabilities of Wealth value proposition with focus on sales processes, service standards, wealth customer growth, product penetration, financial performance
  • Develop the next phase of Asia Wealth strategy, in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Support the design and implementation of key initiatives to drive performance, ensure effective implementation and design of control standards, governance and procedures with the aim of sharing and promoting best practice
  • Accountable for coordinating across ASP region and related markets the key performance metric targets, scorecards and business performance reporting
  • Responsible for driving FRP and performance targets alongside the business owners
  • The role is pivotal for further maximizing growth of the Asia markets, and the role holder is required to build networks and relationships with key markets by working closely with the key business stakeholders such as Global Business Finance, Global Analytics, Wealth proposition teams, Wealth solutions team, digital, and other teams to develop appropriate components and parts of the strategy
  • The broad nature of the role demands a high calibre individual capable of dealing simultaneously with a range of issues. Flexibility and adaptability are required as tasks are unpredictable, complex and time sensitive
Requirements

Knowledge/Experience

  • Previous experience in wealth management, proposition development, strategy execution, analytics with exposure to strategy development, proposition formation, product development, commercial management across specific traditional and/or digital financial product categories and customer segments
  • Stakeholder management experience in a regional capacity is essential
  • Good understanding of HSBC’s wealth eco-system, business and system architecture is preferred
  • Insights on competitive and innovation landscape in Retail Wealth industry globally and Asia specifically
  • Retail banking experience, familiarity with large bank environment
  • Experience with multi-geography team/product/ management of wealth clients or products
  • Experience delivering products and/or proposition features, digital solutions to market and delivering commercial results and customer outcomes in line with plan
  • Knowledge of WPB business drivers, sales and financial planning process, products and solutions, digital enablers would be preferred
  • Well developed, proven project management skills

  • Able to work within a multi-jurisdictional and high velocity team with the direct manager in a different market
