  • Reporting into Group Protective Security, the jobholder is responsible for providing guidance in relation to all travel security matters globally. They operationally oversee all travel security activity within Protective Security (PS) and serve as a travel security subject matter expert.
  • Protective Security (PS) has responsibility for managing physical risk arising from a number of different sources which are primarily criminal in nature or intent – armed robbers, opportunist thieves, organised gangs, terrorists, social or political activists, vandals etc. Protective Security also manages a number of activities which fall outside this including executive/close protection, event security, travel security, personal risk assessments, residential security surveys and kidnap and ransom.

What you’ll do:

  • Operationally oversee all Global travel security activity within PS
  • Provide guidance and serve as travel security subject matter expert within PS
  • Assist with the response and resolution to any material travel related incidents
  • Cascade and escalate PS response to BCIM, Insurable Risk and Travel Services as required
  • Support regional and market PS leads in the execution of the travel risk management program
  • Manage/review traveler data quality in accordance with the associated control and liaise with Travel Services and external vendors to address & correct issues
  • Liaise with the Group approved Third Party vendor providing travel & security assistance globally
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Sound understanding of operational risk, risk management and control management
  • Demonstrable understanding of Protective Security in HSBC, another Bank or similar sized global organisation
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skill
  • Skilled in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and other related applications
  • Collaborative and professional working style
  • Strong record of research and innovation
  • Experience within a Travel Risk Management role (preferably within a corporate environment)
