We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Vice President, IT Operations Lead.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, HSBC Philippines, the jobholder is a key member of the Philippine IT Team focusing on stakeholder management, delivery of high quality projects, high availability of systems and ensuring all regulatory asks are covered
Principal accountabilities
- Lead, manage and own the overall coordination and stakeholder management with the GB/GFs technology CtB and RtB requirements
- Provide guidance and support to ADM/CTO teams
- Ensure continuous growth and development of the ADM team to fulfill mission and exceed expectations of the customers/stakeholders.
- Oversees internal and external technology vendors, monitor performance and adhere to the required governance
- Help manage emerging technologies and processes to improve efficiencies and productivity
- Oversee the project lifecycle and ensure delivery of high quality and cost-efficient technological change in support of GB/GFs stakeholders and technology delivery teams (onshore and offshore; in-house and third-party) to drive change and provide solutions to functions problems and opportunities
- Perform impact analysis in response to change requests, whether business-initiated or regulator-driven
- Ensure that global functions requirements and specifications are correctly captured, understood and delivered to enable them to deliver high quality solutions
- Ensure systems are fit for the future and recommend/deliver changes required to improve platform efficiency and resilience plus aligned to strategy.
- Ensure high quality of project planning, execution, testing and oversight, by adhering to HSBC’s Change Framework and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and embedding Agile methods in the ADM team.
- Minimise recurring incidents by coordinating thorough root-cause analysis in response to issues and implement improvement plans where appropriate.
- Develop knowledge & skills in the ADM POD, leveraging subject-matter expertise, experience and lessons-learnt aligned to the people agenda within the Group IT strategy and personal development plans of ADM team.
- ITSO/TPEM for all services and applications for aligned GB or GF for the market
- Engaging all relevant stakeholders to maintain visibility on their service availability, operability metrics, risk appetite, incidents and control effectiveness and to provide robust challenge to the same audience when risk appetites are threatened and instigate the incident process when risk appetite is breached.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements
- Background in the banking sector (at least 7 years), with broad knowledge of banking systems in general, and specific knowledge of systems relevant to corporate banking, markets, treasury.
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, able to forge trusted partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders across the Bank.
- Project/program management and strong business analysis experience
- Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and collaborate to successfully deliver services to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to think creatively to drive innovative, practical and cost-effective solutions to complex issues.
- Knowledge and experience of incident / problem / change and release management
- Experience of Agile methods and leading Pods.
- Effectively co-ordinate delivery of services involving elements delivered by other internal/external teams
- Experience with DevOps tools like JIRA, GitHub, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins.
- Knowledge in regulatory and compliance aspects of financial systems
The following skills would also be an advantage:
- Knowledge in Agile Ways of Working
- Certified GCP, AWS, Azure or combination of
- Knowledge of payments systems and payments life-cycle, ISO200022
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks and telecommunications, and desktop technologies.
- Knowledge in technology budgeting and forecasting
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band level than stated above.
