We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President  India Regional Hedging Unit

Principal responsibilities

  • Act as Regional Hedging Unit SME in business analysis by defining a clear objective and set of expected outcomes for each initiative, supported by a description of the current and target state hedge accounting business process flows, defining requirements, and producing a set of test cases to ensure the target design and approach works for all scenarios.
  • Working with Regional Hedging Unit’s, Finance Change and the IT teams which support Product Control to support project delivery, maintain plans and analysis, resolve issues where required and communicate status.
  • Responsible for delivering project management and business analysis outcomes that are compliant with the Change Framework
  • Perform feature testing (acceptance testing) and pre-UAT on all testable tickets developed by both Front Office and Finance IT teams during the sprints. Prepare test cases, scripts and expected results for testing. Ensure what has been developed meets the acceptance criteria for both Front Office and Finance.  Identify defects, raise to IT for fixing and perform re-testing.
  • Coordinate UAT and gather end users’ feedback for further development.
  • Participate in and/or conduct show and tell demonstrations of the product to users as it is developed.
  • Deliver against the RHU objectives to provide the necessary support to Treasury for their hedging risk management activities.
  • Contribute to the identification and prioritization of process/systems changes to ensure function is aligned with HSBC and market best practice.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the hedging components within PC, Finance IT, Front Office IT and non-IT Projects, such as (but not limited to) PC Transformation, FRTB, Hedge Accounting Transformation and new accounting standards such that there are close to zero manual touchpoints across the end-to-end process, including Financial and Regulatory reporting
    Requisitos
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant/ CWA/CPA /CFA / MBA from Tier I/II institute with at least 5 years of minimum experience, out of which at least 1 -2 years of experience should be in core Hedge Accounting.
    • Good knowledge of IAS 39/IFRS 9 is mandatory, specifically related to Hedge Accounting strategies.
    • Ability to distil complex hedge accounting concepts into practical and efficient processes and controls.
    • Understanding the operation, the related risks, and the accounting of banking products, including good knowledge of financial instruments and practices
    • Knowledge of various Global Market products like Foreign Exchange, Fixed income, Derivatives - Options, Interest rate swaps, Credit Derivatives etc.
    • Prior Product Control experience preferred across multiple asset classes with a strong understanding of Financial Markets, risks, and the changing regulatory environment (products traded, associated risks and their life cycle, valuation techniques) will be an advantage.
    • Proven ability to manage migrations of finance processes and exposure to diverse/multi-culture work environments with strong organization, time management and prioritization skills.
    • Capacity to manage multiple tasks while being able to prioritize deliverables in the due timeline.
    • Excellent communication skills, both in verbal and in writing, to abroad range of stakeholders including PC, Finance Change, Finance and Business IT, Treasury and Markets Treasury, Global Accounting Policy
    • Experience of agile delivery techniques such as the Scaled Agile Framework and tooling such as Confluence and JIRA would be an advantage.
