We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director Software Engineering Specialist.

 

Business: CIB - GPS Technology

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership on design, development, implementation and testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT solutions;
  • Lead GPS projects implemenation that aligns with all FSA directions and standards through cross organization consulting and direct involvement in development efforts.
  • Communicate with relevant stake holders regarding resolving issues related to delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross teams, including development, test, business analyst and other relevant stakeholder to resolve technical queries or incidents with work around and long-term solution.
  • Present, develop and apply program fix on application defects according to HSBC Change Management standard.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders in order to achieve the best desired outcome.
  • Understanding the functional and non-functional requirements through regular interactions with the Business Analysts, SMEs and Solution Architects.
  • Take lead in designing the solution which is more reusable and maintainable.
  • Accountable for ensuring the design of the product solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development life-cycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities.
  • Provides accurate estimates and status to management, raising issues appropriately.
  • Ensure that development is done with the highest quality measured by defect counts and defect ratios.
  • Provide Application incident on-call support during off business hours, and provide Weekend/Public Holiday Application Support per project delivery and Business needs.

Requisitos

 

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant discipline;
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with solid hands-on development experience and keeps coding in recent years;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, track record of leading and delivering new IT solutions of large scale with significant impact to the business;
  • Strong experience in leading senior engineers for the delivery of complex deployment projects and under diversified / matrix structure;
  • Solid experience in technical solution design on large scale projects. Extensive knowledge in design patterns and best practices;
  • Rich experience in Micro Service solution, implementation and maintenance; rich coding experience with Java in recent years;
  • Rich experience with Containerization and Cloud solutions on AWS / GCP / Azure / Ali Cloud platform;
  • Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Solid experience with DevSecOps tooling and best practices, such as deployment automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools and test automation framework;
  • Practical application of Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and Testing Automation;
  • Foundational knowledge and awareness of trendy technologies such as AI / ML and be prepared with potential use cases;
  • Strong passion for technology, keeps learning and up-skilled with new technical stacks; capable of researching new technologies with PoC by yourself.
  • Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and fluent in English.
