We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist.

Principal responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IBM z/Linux Systems Administrator to join our Mainframe Infrastructure Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both z/OS and zLinux systems administration.  In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of our IBM z/OS and Linux systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our server infrastructure.

  • Administer and maintain IBM z/OS and Linux environments, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security protocols to ensure data integrity and security compliance.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and system integrations.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to IBM z/Linux systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members and end-users as needed.
  • Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity.
  • Risk and Cost Management.
Requisitos
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in mainframe architecture, operating systems, and related technologies.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on IBM z/OS and Linux environments.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of network protocols, security, and backup solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
