We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.

In this role, you will:

  • Engineering, prototyping and evaluating technical solutions
  • Technical support and continuous improvement of tooling platforms
  • Consultancy to global GBM IT teams on solutions & practices
  • Development of new solutions
  • Leading and orchestrating projects, POC's
  • This is a key role in a globally distributed team of engineers/developers responsible for MSS development tooling, including maintenance, performance, stability, integration and reporting. You’ll understand how code works – how it sits on the OS, talks to networks, how it’s built and deployed, how to troubleshoot
  • issues, and how we make it safe. 
  • We provide tooling services across MSS and develop innovative solutions to make development easier. We value independence and seek solutions where we can have complete control. Our estate is currently Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, Nexus, Team City, Splunk, Sonarqube.
  • As an engineer you will be helping development teams get better by providing better solutions and solving problems. Deliver better solutions in a conservative organization. Automate everything. Our target this year is to dramatically reduce tooling support and do more innovation & engineering.
Requisitos

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Candidate should have good understanding of agile working, continuous delivery. 
  • Proficiency in unix shell scripting and at least two programming languages from Node.JS, Python, Java, C, C++
  • Good understanding of unix platforms, networking, storage, memory management, database technologies.
  • Understanding of Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, Nexus, Splunk, Team City and their role in end to end development
  • Good understanding of Docker, Vagrant and cloud services

What additional skills will be good to have? 

  • Rust, Go, Lisp, Kotlin, Scala, Clojure, OCaml, Elixir, Haskell. 
  • Puppet, Ansible, webservices
  • Postgres, Mongo
  • JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Team City, Nexus & Nexus IQ
  • Grafana, Influxdb, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus
