Corporate Communications

Hang Seng’s Corporate Communications Department formulates and executes compelling communications programmes that promote the Bank’s corporate image, products and services. It monitors public opinions about the Bank and ensures important messages are conveyed in a timely and effective manner, both internally and externally. The Department also helps safeguard Hang Seng’s brand and position as the leading domestic bank in Hong Kong by advising on reputational matters and strengthening relationships with its stakeholders.

The Brand Communications function plans and implements strategic initiatives supporting the Banks brand values and employer value propositions. Working very closely with functional and business heads, the team proactively plans and executes communication initiatives to promote the Banks brand values, employee engagement and to promote the Banks reputation. The team also builds thought leadership and establish amicable relationship with various external stakeholders, leverage multiple channels including but not limited to traditional media, social media, external speaking opportunities and other events. 

Reporting to the Senior Brand Communications Manager, the Brand Communications Manager is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of integrated communication strategies that promote the Bank's brand values and enhance brand awareness across all channels. This role will focus on creating compelling content, managing media relationships, developing targeted campaigns, and ensuring brand consistency across all communication platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Communications to Promote Brand Values:

  • Plan and execute creative and integrated communications campaigns that strategically and effectively promote the Bank’s brand values, enhance staff’s sense of belonging, and engage and inspire the Bank’s key external stakeholders.
  • Develop engaging content for various internal and external channels, including media, YouTube, LinkedIn, intranet, staff mobile applications and events to promote the Bank’s brand stories. 

Strategic and Effective Content Creation:

  • Develop key message, creative and compelling stories to promote the Bank’s brand values and stories across various platforms, including traditional and social media for both external and internal audience.
  • Create engaging and impactful multi-media content for both external and internal channels such as LinkedIn and YouTube, including videos, articles, and other formats, aligned with the Bank’s brand and strategic objectives.  

Employee Engagement and Communications:

  • Develop and implement creative and compelling internal communications and engagement plans that promote employer branding.
  • Develop the Bank’s culture and conduct campaign to educate, engage, and inspire employees on topics related to risk, compliance, conduct, and organizational culture.

Executive Profiling:

  • Develop leadership communications through engaging content including CE LinkedIn, CE Townhall etc.
  • Support executive profiling and build thought leadership for the Bank’s senior executives – featuring the Bank’s strategic values.

Media Relations:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with media, especially features, community and lifestyle sections.
  • Proactively generate positive media coverage through events, press releases, and targeted outreach. 

Reputational and Issues Management:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential reputational risks in collaboration with all functions with regards to employer branding, community investments, social issues, marketing etc.
  • Ensure compliance of all ESG communications materials with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Events and Campaign Management

  • Develop and execute entity-level events aligned with the Bank’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative event concepts and experiences that engage and inspire attendees.
Requisitos
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate communications with a sizeable organisation, with a focus on public relations, marketing, and/or events management.
  • Excellent and proven track record in planning and executing events of various sizes and for different stakeholders.
  • An innovative communicator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with a proven ability to develop compelling and impactful content.
  • Proficient in content creation and storytelling on social media platforms, including YouTube and LinkedIn. 
  • Good design and art sense.
  • Strong media relations especially with features and lifestyle media in Hong Kong and preferably the Greater Bay Area. 
  • Understanding of the banking industry and its regulatory landscape preferred.
