We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: Wholesale Technology 

Principal responsibilities

• Industry experience, in Payments, Cash Management and/or Treasury Management. Especially sound understanding of payment flows
• Familiarity with MT and ISO 20022 standards
• Product management or product development experience preferred.
• Good understanding of HSBC payment architecture and flow
• Experience in working in large scale programs across client, market and regulatory requirements preferred.
• Ability to effectively work in a diverse and multicultural team.
• Effective communicator across all levels, functional groups, and geographies.
• Good communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written.
• Proactive in identifying opportunities, self-motivated, willing to take ownership and responsibility.
• Managing demands from several sources and working to deadlines
• Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use independent judgement to make decisions where no precedent exists.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to connect with stakeholders across geographies.

• Ability to present complex solutions in clear and concise language.

Functional Knowledge

• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Transaction banking, preferably in Payment’s product.
• Proven experience in Project management, requirement analysis, business case development, risk management, marketing support. 
• Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex problems, interpret customer and/or operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
• Proven ability to run effective workshops and trainings for client business users.
• Strong aptitude with Data Analysis and Interpretation skills - the ability to critically evaluate information gathered across multiple sources, using multiple analysis techniques, reconcile variances and recommend proposals to senior and key stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify the root causes of problems and generate effective solutions. Alongside this, adaptability is key, as Strategic Business Changes must be able to pivot quickly in response to new information or changing circumstances, ensuring that the change process remains on track despite obstacles.

Technical Knowledge

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Boot, master in multi-thread, streaming API, and non-blocking IO programming.
• Implement and manage microservices architecture.
• Work with Oracle databases and write efficient PL/SQL queries, be capable of performance tuning.
• Utilize Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker for containerization and orchestration.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Write and maintain pipeline scripts for automation.
• Perform system monitoring and ensure high availability and performance.
• Conduct automation testing to ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Work with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Alibaba Cloud (ALI Cloud) (preferable).

• The job holder must be proactive, able to comprehend, evaluate and offer clear, timely and reliable analysis and recommendations to directors and above, and communicate this effectively; an ability to develop a global network, build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels is required for success.
• Capability to balance shifting priorities over multiple work-strands and working under tight time pressure is important.
• A strong commercial acumen and product management experience including product commercialization and governance, or risk is imperative.
