Your career opportunity
The individual will be part of HSBC Bank plc Europe Non-Financial Risk (1LOD) responsible for providing oversight and delivery of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Governance reporting for Finance across key sites and sub-Functions within Finance. The role’s critical success factors include attention to detail, data handling skills, ability to create quality Management Information (MI) under pressure as well as devise and implement efficient processes for key deliverables.
What you’ll do
- Support the delivery of the Finance Risk and Control governance (e.g. RCMMs, or locally equivalent forums). Support the RCA refresh and update of RCAs with Risk Owners, Risk Stewards and Control Owners as required (annual requirements of trigger event). Support identification, documentation, management and monitoring of Issues and Actions management: ensure timely management of issues with Helios as well as support a proactive culture for raising issues in a timely basis.
- Drive the delivery of effective Finance COO Risk and Control Governance.
- Provide Quality Assurance and oversight on the governance reporting.
- Adhoc reporting requirements (projects, one-off).
- Track the status of open issues/actions and audit points.
- Help improve data quality & consistency (e.g. data corrections made once, centrally).
- Support risk and control data capture in Helios (and related tools). Support control owners, control officers and the Assurance team with issues & actions tracking and reporting.
- Data quality monitoring including defining and agreeing remedial actions.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Experience working in an Operational Risk, Control Office or Audit Function, preferably in Finance.
- Detailed and hands on experience with assessments of risks and controls.
- Strong communication skills including verbal, business writing and effective presentation skills.
- Demonstrate initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple and competing priorities.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley compliance procedures (preferable).
