The Team
The Collaboration Tooling team play a pivotal role in delivering tooling and support to all the Value Streams within WPB; 3000 developers and 30,000 end users. The tools being managed currently within the team consist of Slack, Jira and Confluence and are maintained both on-prem as well AWS.

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be within a team who have full responsibility for the WPB Jira, Confluence and Slack platforms. These applications are critical to all WPB Teams, so it’s imperative to maintain a 100% uptime and provide an excellent level of service to all 35,000 users!
What you’ll do
- Support Jira and Confluence through our internal Jira Service Desk.
- Maintain the operational environment within AWS including PostgreSQL.
- Implement new customisations through customer service requests:
-Jira project configurations (Workflows, Fields, Screens, Permissions etc.).
-Confluence content management (Space creation, data cleaning, user macros etc.).
-Review and piloting of new apps from the Atlassian marketplace. - General maintenance of the application and ensuring best practises.
- Assist in implementing application upgrades.
- Manage Slack issues and onboarding.
- Provide training where required to users for all our tools.
- Close Issues within agreed SLAs.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Fluency in written and spoken English and be comfortable working in a multi-cultured/global environment.
- Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
- 2 years’ experience managing & supporting an infrastructure Hosting Environment - Linux, AWS, Databases (MySQL, Postgres).
- 4-5 years' experience administering & supporting Jira and Confluence.
- Groovy Experience (ScriptRunner, JMWE, System scripting).
- Be comfortable following Scrum methodology and working within an agile, multidisciplinary team.
- Great communication - convey your thoughts, ideas, and opinions clearly and concisely face-to-face or virtually to all levels up and down stream.
