Enterprise Technology brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti- money laundering, transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. 

Risk & Compliance technology design and deploy cutting edge technology to defend the bank and its customers from Sanctions Risk, Financial Crime Risk, Identity Threat, Unauthorised Trading and Market Abuse & Regulatory Sanctions, as well as supporting Enterprise Risk Management.  We provide the systems that enable our global businesses to grow through data-driven, pro-active risk management.

Governance Risk and Control is looking for highly motivated individual to undertake a Senior Software Engineer (ETL) role within Enterprise technology, principally to define and implement transfer of Helios Data asset onto Risk Data Platform. IT and business strategy, meets business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory and operational risk controls.
RDP is HSBC’s owned Hadoop based and developed data platform which hosts data across the various system.

What you’ll do
    • Deliver the good quality solutions within the tight deadlines.
    • Communicate effectively with other team members, coach them, share best practices, ensure highest standards by doing code reviews. 
    • Be able to prepare the test data and use cases based on the business requirements.
    • Work effectively also under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
    • Work on burning the product backlog and oversee product demo’s.
    • Manage risks and issues.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Possess the following technical skills – SQL, Python, Pyspark, ETL, Unix, Control-M (or similar scheduling tools).
    • At least 2 years of experience in Pyspark development. 
    • At least 2 years of experience in SQL development.
    • Experience in any of the ETL tools Prophecy, Datastage 11.5/11.7, Pentaho etc.
    • GCP Cloud knowledge/experience (in Airflow, Dataproc, Big query) is an additional advantage.
    • Familiarity with Hadoop file formats, especially Delta Lake.
    • Ability to work independently on specialised assignments within the context of project deliverables.

Nice to have
    • Familiarity with Databricks SQL dialects.
    • Experience in building Data Warehouses or similar (Data Lakes, Data Marts, Data Lake Houses).
