Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Head of Business Development and Support, Pensions Strategy.

Role purpose

  •  Reporting to Head of Pensions, the role holder will provide intense services to the Head of Pensions to cover the MPF business development and support within WPB / AM Pensions.  The AUM under HK Pensions is cUSD28b, covering 1.7million member accounts.
  • The jobholder will be responsible for developing product and market proposition to enhanced and dedicated collaboration with Asset Management and WPB for MPF matters while also acting as the key liaison with the Trustee and eMPF Platform company to ensure the overall development of various customer platforms for MPF.
  • The incumbent will hold primary quality related accountabilities for all MPF regulated activities under MPF licensed Intermediary, including sales quality assurance, regulatory / statutory returns and other licensing matters in relation to the MPF business in Hong Kong.
  • He/she will oversee the MPF products development , marketing and business support team with regards to strategic Pensions business and growth initiatives.  In addition, the position also acting as a key integral part to assist working population in HK managing the retirement wealth.
  • He/she will be the core team member in Pensions Exco to support Head of Pensions in overseeing all aspects of the Pensions business

Key Accountabilities

  • Key leadership role in driving the overall Products propositions in relation to MPF business within HSBC Group.
  • Plan, Design and Develop the post-retirement solutions, including the implementation of post-retirement products within the MPF schemes, and enhance the retirement life cycle for HK MPF system.
  • Plan and develop pension product related strategy to fit the needs of the evolvement of the market and ensure the competitiveness of the Pensions products. Lead and drive the product development, review, and enhancement MPF products of the Pension business of HSBC Group, and execution of those product changes. Lead and execute statutory-related product changes and liaison with key stakeholders of pension offering, including INHK, Trustees, Administrator, Investment managers, Sales & Servicing team, etc. to ensure that pension projects are delivered effectively.
  • Lead, develop and implement HSBC Pensions’ product proposition strategy and revamp customer journeys to facilitate acquisition, servicing and engagement with both individual and employer customers.
  • Formulating and reviewing strategies to explore business opportunities or sales development to achieve market share growth. Devising, launching and management of tactical promotions and campaigns for customers and distribution channels in achieving business target and business retention.
  • Lead, support sales development functions such as facilitating training and co-ordination of seminar programs
  • Coordinating review of service agreements with all business partners to comply with the internal service standard and external compliance requirements. Monitor, identify any operational risk and to establish controls and make reviews at a timely manner.
  • Develop strategies and methodologies to improve customer satisfaction on products, identify market service benchmark and develop best practice models for products / servicing improvement areas to uplift overall customer experience. This includes ensuring delivery of transformation initiatives (incl. digital) for the MPF business via enhancement of capabilities for products, channels, customer communications, major customer touch points and servicing.
  • Be accountable to oversee and support the implementation of MPF Principal Intermediary re Sales Quality activities for MPF within HBAP centrally to ensure ongoing compliance of policies and procedures.  Collaborate with AMH RBWM on aligning practices of BRCM, Sales Quality and Global Standards.
  • Manage the Trustee collaboration to ensure a robust monitoring of investment performance, risk, compliance and regulatory matters and addressing any issues efficiently and effectively.

Also actively supporting the Head of Pensions in a leadership capacity to:

  •  Maintain close relations and collaboration with the MPFA on industry transformation and market development initiatives of the public pension system.
  •  As the primary contact for HBAP of Scheme Sponsor on industry matters to ensure timely and proactive responses to public, industry and regulator enquiries.

Impact on the Business

  • Develop and drive the "HSBC MPF" product strategies and enhance the image of HSBC's MPF business with a particular focus on an integrated retirement proposition for achievement of business growth
  • Lead in developing new business opportunities and support customers throughout their entire retirement planning and post-retirement journey.
  • Ensure that product offering of HSBC / HASE MPF are compliant with regulations and conduct regular review on HSBC / HASE MPF products. Lead product strategy to ensure that product offering of HSBC / HASE MPF remain competitive in the market, as well as fitting into the wider wealth management proposition of the HSBC Group. To ensure that product related materials are kept up to date, accurate and are easy to be understood by customers.

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Develop and implement improvement projects and communication plans with different departments, functions and entities. Exhibit effective communication skill when working across teams / functions / entities to ensure that projects are run efficiently.
  • Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.  Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy within the team and across the pension business.
  • Build and maintain valuable relationships with MPFA and industry regulators to improve the business and regulatory climate for HSBC MPF
  • Manage all external affairs with media, industry and public as the primary contact of Scheme Sponsor on various compliance issues, transformation and market development matters
  • Improve customer experience (products) and improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop strategies and plans to enhance customer service quality and expand service ranges through close monitoring on administrator’s services so as to meet customer expectations and market service standards

  • Implement and ensure compliance with group compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Align all activities with the HSBC Global Standards to ensure that there is consistency and quality
  • Implement, control and monitor products and servicing projects by formulating effective work plans with effective project management skills with respect to resourcing, reporting and risk management knowledge.
  • Alignment and assessment on resources, motivation of internal and external stakeholders to achieve proposition objectives
  • Statistical analysis and management reporting for management information.
Requisitos

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience
  • Extensive years proven experience in implementing change in large matrix organizations
  • Extensive years of experience in the insurance / wealth domain, with a strong preference for retirement benefits & sales
  • Enterpreneurial mindset, strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong knowledge of risk management and pertinent regulations impacting activities.
  • Passionate business driver with strong business acumen, able to implement changes and strong in execution
