Risk Governance & Controls Officer, Global Treasury Manager

Role purpose:

The Global Treasury (GT) Strategy, Execution and Control function is responsible for a significant book of work in the Treasury & Market Treasury function including strategic planning and delivery, effective governance, IT and innovations strategy, management of front to back and associated functions as well as conduct and control standards across our teams. The function plays a key foundation role in managing GT existing operations and in the success of the implementing the new GT25 target operating model  

As part of the Risk Governance and Control Office (RG&C) team helps govern and manage risks in the business, including but not limited to Operational, Conduct and Trading lifecycle risk.

Main activities: 

  • Report Functionally to the to the Regional Head of Risk Governance and Control and Locally to the Treasurer in Mexico
  • Support the Risk Governance and Control team in the completion of central and globally required tasks, including end to end Process and Control mapping and delivery of deep dive reviews and read across exercises.
  • Support the consistent design, implementation and running of Key governance forums.
  • Work with the Regional Global Treasury, Finance Control office and Markets Securities Services (MSS) Non-Financial Risk office, Finance teams and key Treasury stakeholders as well as business management to ensure effective implementation of control standards, governance, procedures and controls.
  • Assist the Regional Global Treasury Head in delivering effective management of Non-Financial Risk items and other key objectives such as proactive review of sites and maintenance of internal control standards.
  • Drive the Risk Control Assessments (RCA)s for Global Treasury activities in the region, ensuring it is up to date, and reflective of underlying activities.
  • Work Closely with the MSS Control Office to ensure that there are consistent and effective controls in place where there is relevant shared platform usage.
  • Work with all Regional Markets Treasury Risk ownership and support functions to ensure robust controls and act as a point of escalation with regards downstream control issues. Influence support functions in their remediation of control gaps.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit points remediation to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Act as control expert advising transformation teams and program managers on optimal governance, conduct, risk monitoring and controls standards embeddedness.
  • Advise other businesses on their change agendas to ensure adequate change governance is respected, critical new processes are mapped, and well documented and necessary controls are adequate.
  • Working in partnership with the Regional Treasury Leadership Team in ensuring the business continues to operate to the highest levels of operational, governance and accountability standards via well-scoped and managed Risk Management framework.
  • Assist the Regional Treasurer in delivering effective management of Non-Financial Risk items and other key objectives such as proactive review of sites and maintenance of internal control standards.
Requisitos
  • Degree holder, preferably with a professional qualification, with strong knowledge of internal control, governance/policy and risk management in Global Treasury.
  • 10 years’ experience in business management, Audit or risk/control roles within a markets business
  • Strong understanding of Global Treasury businesses and products, specifically with in-depth knowledge of Treasury activities including Finance, and the Trading/Market facing side.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills to enhance standards, policies and controls
  • Well-developed leadership and people management skills, able to drive change and provide positive influence to achieve organization goals 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate and work effectively with senior business leaders across business lines and geographies 
  • Strong problem solving and prioritization skills and be able to perform multitask under pressure with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent team player with a proactive and self-motivated attitude and ability to think and act independently
