The Network Functions Specialist will work within the Network team and will be a subject matter expert on an infrastructure a critical component of the Network topology or services provided.

The Network Specialist is responsible for the provision and/or 2nd/3rd line design / support of services on a national or Global network technology infrastructure. This can include both the development of new functions and facilities and the on-going systems support of live systems.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Mets expectations of internal customers through delivery of high quality  projects, meeting their needs and demonstrating the added value of service provided.
  • To support and maintain full functionality of equipment and applications provided by TS
  •  Meets quality targets as assigned by ITID Management for Change, Service Levels and Problem Resolution times
  •  Identify and improve efficiency and potential improvements of Networks environment
  • Communicating effectively with key business users regarding requirements
  • Participate in the testing/piloting of new services/hardware.
Requisitos

Requirements:

  • General experience in IT support
  • A broad understanding of IT hardware, software, operations and networks
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly assess situations, their impact and options for resolution.
  • To be able to prioritise faults, estimate fix times.
  • Good team player skills which rely on honest open communication and reliability of individuals to strive to deliver an excellent service to the customer.
  • Solid support and hands on experience of Bluecoat ProxySG, CAS, and exposure to Symantec Management Centre an advantage.
  • Good communication skills
  • Professional qualifications such as Bluecoat Certified Administrator or Professional advantageous
  • Experience working in Enterprise scale environments, and familiarity with change control processes.
  • Vendor Product Specific Knowledge

            Symantec Bluecoat ProxySG, CAS, Management Centre

  • Ability to manage and prioritise service delivery within a diverse and constantly changing technical environment.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to influence peer group good negotiation skills.
  • Understand and interpret complex business and IT requirements.
  • Proven ability to prioritise competing demands for time and resources.
  • Managing large Regional and Global Network project implementations.
  • Up to 12 years’ network experience or extensive experience in the HSBC IT or business environments.
  • Recognised Technology expert within ITID and HSBC Globally.
