We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist

 

Business: Wealth & Personal Banking IT

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Design and engineer software with the customer/user experience as a key objective
  • Actively contributes to Technology Engineering Practice by sharing Subject Matter Expertise from their area of specialism, best practice and learnings
  • Drives adherence to all standards and policies within their area of Technology Engineering
  • Delivery and support of data related infrastructure and architecture to optimise data storage and consumption across the bank, including addressing functional and non-functional requirements relevant to data in large applications
  • Design and develop applications for internal and external users focussing on the interface and front-end usability of the application
  • Engineer and implement security measures for the protection of internal and external systems, networks, products and services
  • Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data
  • Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team
  • Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered
  • Keep up-to-date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant controls and standards
  • Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilising their skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these according to demand
  • End-to-end accountability for a product or service, identifying and developing the most appropriate Technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey
  • Liaise with other engineers, architects and business stakeholders, to understand and drive the product or service's direction
  • Create technical test plans and records, including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality
  • Provide support to DevOps teams working at all stages of a product or service release/change with a strong customer focus and end-to-end journeys, ensuring they have an excellent domain knowledge
  • Working with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release/change
  • Responsible for automating the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Design and develop software with a focus on automation of build, testing and deployment process on all environments to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant controls and standards including relevant Service Management Standard
  • Ensure high data quality exists in Service Management systems of record
  • Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team
  • Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered
  • Responsible for automating the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement
Requisitos
  • 10+ years of experience working through the definition, design, release and run cycle of software products to markets using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • 10+ Experience of any object-oriented language preferably Java or Python or C++ etc. 
  • 3+ Experience of cloud platform technology AWS and Ali-Cloud or GCP, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with DevOps, ITIL, Cloud Services, IT Infrastructure and Operations, including environment standup, server builds, firewalls, security and regulatory compliance. 
  • Proficiency working in Unix/Linux environments. Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, ElasticSearch/Splunk, Google / AWS /Ali Cloud Computing, Cloud Watch, SQL, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Kafka. 
  • Managing production public-facing backend services with internal application users and external customers.
  • Experience implementing and managing Logging, Monitoring and Alerting framework for hybrid cloud or third party services using AppDynamics, Splunk, Data Dog. 
  • Experience with agile development (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and within an agile project team (agile in ability to perform cross-functional tasks quickly) – balance multiple projects and collaborating closely with other development teams.
  • Understands the importance of a good team dynamic, is a team-player. a very capable communicator and comfortable receiving feedback.
  • Good communication and could communicate and share the design and solution with global archtiect and senior management with fluent English
