We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

 

Business: Wholesale IT

 

Principal responsibilities

Impact on the Business

  • Analyze, design, develop and implement IT solutions to meet business requirements
  • Conduct system test, user acceptance test and provide support on system implementation.
  • Ensure a high quality standard of deliverables according to HSBC standards and best practices
  • Prepare project related documentation and ensure compliance and audit policies strictly followed
  • Reduce technical risk / debt in solution proposal, system design and implementation
  • Provide technical and domain consultancy and support in Commercial Banking IT
  • Provide in-depth knowledge transfer and on-job training / guidance to improve team productivity
  • Work closely with global and regional stakeholders on projects delivery
  • Maintain effective and good relationship between the business and the IT Project team, managing appropriate business expectations and negotiating compromise where appropriate

  • Continuously upgrading and learning various technologies / applications required for successful project delivery through continuous learning and training                                                                                                                                                                                             

  • Shouldering responsibility diligently and delivering quality output within the defined schedule and service levels
  • Consistently providing best approach for project execution
  • Constantly work towards improving technical / application knowledge capabilities of the teams
  • Continuously contribute to enhance best practices and to ensure that these are implemented within projects. Also validate that projects are following the coding and design standards and guidelines
  • Continuously provide valued addition to projects

 

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Build-up comprehensive banking domain, knowledge base
  • By acquiring, maintaining knowledge in various cross-functional areas of banking, financial services space through a comprehensive, current and relevant repository
  • By documenting the domain knowledge by means of white papers, presentations etc.
  • By participating in knowledge sharing and transfer.
  • By disseminating functional domain knowledge to various GLT associates both proactively and for project specific needs

Requisitos

 

  • A university graduate with degree in computer science or a related discipline
  • At least 8 years of technical experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, SQL, WAS, MQ, etc.
  • Banking IT experience is an advantage
  • Business knowledge in commercial bank (especially Commercial Banking IT) will be an advantage
  • Fluent English speaking and professional business writing skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and documentation skills
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative
  • Able to work independently and effectively under pressure
  • Able to adapt in global team culture and communication in different locations
  • Good understanding and experience on SDLC, Agile and DevOps
  • Open-minded, reliable and independent
