Global Communications and Brand Tech (GCBT) was established in 2015 to provide a central IT engineering team to support, facilitate and progress technology provision requests from the Global Marketing and Global Communications Service Lines. As of October 2015, Global Communications was split into Group Public Affairs and Employee Insight and Communications.
GCBT is a sub-function of Enterprise Technology which has its own CIO reporting into the Group CIO and has responsibility for the development, implementation and support of Electronic Publishing solutions to the Group, through both the business stewardship and direct funding by Global Marketing, Group Public Affairs, Employee Insight and Communications.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our Poland based team as Senior Web Developer to support HSBC public websites revamp & maintenance. Our public websites are based on Sitecore Content Management System.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for Technical governance (technical consultancy, architecture review, code review, etc.) for the code releases created by other developers in HSBC or by external third parties.
- Handle code development for new requirements and fixing existing bugs/defects according to agreed standards and best practices.
- Contribute to requirements gathering and delivery planning in order to meet our business partners’ needs in both quality and on-time delivery aspects.
- Consulting closely with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and requirements, developing user stories in association with product owners and with Technical lead.
- Working with the rest of the development team to map requirements to delivery schedules and pipelines, working with testing team to ensure appropriate test cases are executed against requirements.
- Identifying potential issues, reviewing solutions and recommending strategies for solving problems. Provide support to Technical lead responsible for the project delivery
- Conducting research to ensure knowledge of best practice needed to support delivery for business stakeholders.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE REQUIRE
- Can demonstrate outstanding .Net/C# skills with proven experience of at least 7 years
- At least 5 years of experience in building websites and/or web based user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and/or JQuery
- Knowledge of Sitecore Content Management System is must
- Excellent understanding of Web Application Development principles
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Strong analytical skills, flexibility, produce high standards of work
- To be a strong team player but also ability to work independently
- Great English communication skills, both written and verbal
OPTIONAL/NICE TO HAVE
- Operational knowledge of commercial web services networking and infrastructure
- Knowledge of React JS will be a big plus
- Experience working in Agile methodology – in Scrum environment
