We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Vice President - Charitable Contributions and Volunteering Engagement

Principal responsibilities

  • Drive implementation of HSBC’s key volunteering and CSR initiatives across location with a focus on measurable impact and employee engagement. Manage relationships with NGO partners and deliver programs that align with HSBC’s net zero and ESG goals.
  • Drive / implement Volunteering engagement strategy across all GSC. Ensure all CSR and volunteering activities adhere to HSBC’s Financial Crime Risk (FCR) framework, compliance policies, and reputational risk standards.
  • Collaborate with FCC advisory, CMAT, and risk teams to review new initiatives and partnerships. Support internal control reviews, due diligence, and audit requirements related to community and charitable activities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate reputational risks in program design and execution. Provide inputs / work closely with GSC India Philanthropy lead in building the strategy on charitable donations, grants, and community investment budgets for GSC India.
  • Generate and present regular management information (MI) and dashboards on CSR/volunteering metrics, including support for net zero and ESG goals. Maintain accurate MI reporting for volunteering hours, participation, and outcomes tied to corporate sustainability targets.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Sustainability, FCC Advisory, CMAT, Internal Communications, Finance, Legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure integrated program delivery. Act as a liaison across GSC locations, facilitating knowledge-sharing, alignment, and standardization of best practices.
  • Maintain, update and circulate the Department Instruction Book (DIB) to ensure effective management and delivery of the GSC CSR activities in the Centre. Ensure all forms of communication and channels (internal and external) used are compliant with Group Brand guidelines. 
  • Adherence and implementation of the Charitable Giving Policy, screening of NGO partners, seeking advice from FCC Advisory, CMAT Reviews relating to Charitable Contributions.
  • Stakeholder considerations - the role requires the highest quality, most succinct output that is always suitable for senior executive management, regardless of pressures. Managing communication around CSR efforts, volunteering opportunities, impact stories, and recognition of employee contributions. Create impact stories, volunteer spotlights, and visual content that highlight employee contributions and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Sustainability Function for volunteering engagement programmes.Support GSC Community Investment Coordinators to delivery strategy through the Global Corporate Sustainability Manual, Charitable Contributions and Employee Volunteering engagement Programme.
Requisitos
  • Strong business and commercial awareness. Making considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation, and business.
  • Prior experience in CSR, employee engagement, internal communications, or governance/control environments. Working knowledge of risk frameworks, particularly related to FCR and reputational risk. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and CSR/volunteering platforms.
  • Outstanding relationship management, navigating, collaboration and influencing skills. Strong interpersonal & communication skills, proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
  • High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of complex change. Able to leverage resources to achieve goals. Outstanding organizational, time management and planning to cope with multiple large-scale responsibilities.
  • High level of personal drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs simultaneously across HSBC. Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with stakeholders. Proven abilities in working across cultures. Proven leadership skills in a changing environment. Ability to work independently with limited supervision
