Customer Value Management is vital in maintaining HSBC’s position as a provider of world-class wealth and personal banking solutions, directing business development with a focus on customers. The team works to ensure the most appropriate pricing, products and promotions are directed to the most relevant customers, concentrating on building value, treating customers fairly and creating a superb customer experience.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Customer Propositions .

Principal Responsibilities

Our International business serves clients across segments, markets and diasporas. Our Employee Banking Solutions (EBS) business serves employees of our corporate clients, with focus on expats. This role is responsible for delivering a relevant and competitive proposition with remarkable customer experience to our International and EBS clients who are typically international investors, professional expats and international students.  The key focus is to work closely with Product, Marketing, Digital, Distribution, Finance and Analytics in global and country drive customer growth, increase product penetration, and improve business profitability via a robust customer life cycle management model 

  • Develop and define the pre-onboarding, onboarding and engagement strategy for International & EBS clients
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to develop and commercialize end to end client journeys for acquisition and cross-sell – both digital and non-digital
  • Analyse the client portfolios for International and EBS businesses and design segmentation strategy to deliver propositions optimally
  • Refine the current sales model working in close collaboration with Distribution to achieve optimal client coverage for International & EBS clients
  • Design creative Marketing and Communication strategies for the International and EBS propositions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Enhance the service model and treatment for International clients, with specific focus on offshore clients
  • Develop client centric bundled offerings to drive product cross-sell and client stickiness
  • Review competitive offering in order to ensure value added features and ‘best-in-class’ client experience


  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience with client segment strategy / propositions / product management
  • Experience in financial services industry with roles in segment / product management and sales strategy
  • Good understanding of segments (mass affluent, affluent, emerging affluent etc.) and personas (investors, expats, international students etc.) to help develop acquisition strategies
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Prior experience interfacing with partners to drive new segment strategy, business development, acquisition will be beneficial
  • Strong understanding of International & EBS business landscapes, business trends, technology and digital trends
  • Strong and resourceful problem solver who can manage issues including project related defects working with the various partners
