- Business Consulting job family is structured to address end-to-end business needs. Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of providing the required consultation & work with end-business by way of assessing the requirements, identifying the right analytical solution that can solve for the business problem, and developing the same for execution – often covering areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, enhancing internal business processes etc. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach as needed, and retain the flexibility to change track to adopt other solutions based on changed scenarios, in order to deliver on effective results. What you’ll do:
- Act as an SME/consultant on a functional area, conceptualise analytical solution for the business problem at hand for multiple businesses/region
- Focus on driving efficiency gains and enhancement of processes.
- Partner with the business effectively to drive data driven decisions and generate value.
- Also drive business benefit through self-initiated projects
- Closely interact with the FCS Operations teams from GSC sites and FCS Regions to understand the analytical requirements with minimal handholding and also support analytical plan/approach independently to build analytical solutions.
- Work closely with each business area in order to deliver specific solutions for each businesses bottom-line.
- Lead analytical projects and/or statistical models to include project design, data collection, database design, analysis and presentation of results.
- Be future ready and independently contribute to transformation programs, as needed.
- Develop forecasting models and framework to improve forecast accuracy by incorporating historical trends, new drivers and ongoing enhancement to models
- Build and enhance capacity models fit for use as per business process nature.
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods.
- Applying advance/deep analytics to build complex network models for prediction.
- Establish quality standards in terms of timeliness of the projects and accuracy of the deliverables.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a group. Mentor a team of individuals to provide analytical and strategic solutions to business as needed.
- Ability to be flexible and productive in a fast-paced environment with geographically distributed teams.
- S/he should have analytical independent thought process and can-do attitude towards all the problems needing a solution.
- Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.
- Complete other related duties as assigned and support the Company’s Diversity programs.
- Take up on-boarding roles for new team members and mentorship.
- Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls.
- Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls.
Major Challenges
- The role holder will be expected to understand key business goals & priorities at top of the house level, and distil it down to specific goals for specific business partners
- Need to understand business and operations to initiate projects from GAC – Ops analytics and assign work to all his team members.
- Given the dynamic and ever changing global business situation, the incumbent of this role is expected to surmise the business priority and enable the effective delivery of projects and analysis and meet the ever changing business priorities
- The role holder will be expected to go to the heart of the business problem under consideration, and provide a solution rather than simply present the data
- The role holder is required to take quick decisions in situations where complete information/ data might not exist and he/ she would need to apply business knowledge & intuition to make best case recommendations
Role Context
- The job holder has a key role to create a stable and effective operation of analytics against dynamic business situations
- One of key roles is to hire and retain good quality resources for stable delivery of analytical solutions to business and help shape future business strategy and define long term contribution to the group
- The role holder shall also be expected to guide and lead team members from a functional perspective and help them build up a strong business understanding.
Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:
- The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
- The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
- The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
- This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data
- PhD or Masters’ degree from reputed university in statistics, economics or any other quantitative fields
- Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent. In-depth knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is a must.
- Strong programming knowledge of SAS, SQL R/Python, GCP; 2 out of these is must.
- Experience with Alteryx & VBA programming is preferred.
- Prior experience working on Visualization and dash boarding tools like QlikView, QlikSense, Tableau or Looker is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of forecasting and statistical modelling techniques, market research and multivariate analysis tools (e.g., factor and cluster analysis, conjoint analysis etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to mentor team members and guide them effectively.
- Demonstrated capability to solve unstructured business problems with quick TAT – design thinking.
- 100% responsible for driving the governance (strategy and policy) across brands and products as applicable for collections and recoveries.
- Spearhead new initiatives in Operations Analytics including production discipline using future state analytics.
- Prior experience working on Visualization and dash boarding tools like QlikView, QlikSense or Tableau is an added advantage.
- Strong planning, Time management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving skills
- Ability to confidently interact with senior management and communicate and synthesize information in a simple form. Ability to independently deliver without any handholding and effective project management and closure with documented evidence.
- Besides strong written and verbal communication skills the incumbent is also expected to have strong presentation skills.
