  • Global Finance provides financial support to business partners across the HSBC Group.
  • GCOO Finance partners with the Central Operations/GCOO  EXCO members and their teams in effectively managing their functions’ financial performance. This is done as part of the planning, budgeting & forecasting processes and is done in collaboration with the COO and Regional Finance teams.

The Opportunity:

  • This role is a project role until July 2026 to ensure robust financial performance management including Severance and Program cost and benefit tracking.  The incumbent partners with the Head of Business Performance in supporting them effectively manage their sub function and regional financial performance. The role entails providing necessary MI, analyses, commentary and incisive insights for decision making; collaboratively driving the forecasting, planning, budgeting and other financial resource management processes for the region/subfunction. This role also requires to ensure review understanding and explaining the GSC recharges to the respective region/function.

What you’ll do:

Key Responsibilities

Ownership of end-to-end process for the following:

  • Reporting of Monthly financials
  • Running the bottom up monthly forecast process.
  • Running FRP process including system updates and upgrades.
  • Boundary Change and other ad hoc target updates.
  • Seamless and timely implementation of all Org and System changes
  • Conducting first level analysis for Cost, FTE, and recharges/ LOB charges.
  • Supporting Business Service Finance teams with business specific analysis.
  • Continuous review of P&L elements to ensure robust data integrity e.g., Intercompany breaks, recovery of overhead costs, debit/credit breaks etc.
  • Support the Head of Business /COO in presenting the financial position, Risks and Opportunities to the regional / Operations Exco.
  • Continuous focus on process simplification, improvements and automation and effective utilization of digital dashboards like Qlik

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Liaise with Senior Business Stakeholders in Global Ops and Business Finance and wider GFOC teams to ensure support is provided per requirements
  • Focuses on their customers/stakeholders/colleagues, to understand, respond to and anticipate Functions changing needs and plan
  • Ability to manage trouble shooting/ secondary reviews and understand queries raised by business leaders and determine escalation as necessary
  • Influence and escalate key issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution

Teamwork

  • Effective communication with the manager on organisation change and goals
  • Achieve efficiency in operations and maintain work-life balance.
  • Develop the soft skills and technical competency by putting enrolling into trainings.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy
  • Effectively drive change and achieve cross-training

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant / CPA / MBA / CFA from a Tier 1 Institute in India or overseas
  • Minimum 10 years of experience obtained in a Multi-national / International company either within or outside of India
  • Extensive and recent experience in a similar position, preferably within banking industry.
  • Prior experience of implementing a managed services model preferably in a finance function
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills and ability to get into the detail to guide, educate and develop their team
  • Thrives under pressure and has a proven ability to multi-task
  • Ability to collaborate with HSBC staff at all levels
  • Extensive experience of Customer relationships, confidence and presence to deal with Customer
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Sound commercial judgment, with a strong understanding of business issues

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • TM1,Excel and ppt skills and  Practical knowledge of visualization tools like Qlik, Tableau
