Risk Strategy & Policy is responsible for managing HSBC's appetite to comply with risk, business and regulatory priorities, and seeking to strengthen the risk culture within the organisation, through the creation and implementation of policies that set the global standard. Areas of coverage include, but are not limited to, credit strategy, collections strategy, portfolio strategy, product & customer strategy, and certain regulatory reporting.

In this managerial role you will support the operational reporting requirements, in particular the Central Credit Register and work in close collaboration with the other areas of the Risk Function to ensure operational effectiveness.

In this role you will:

• Assist the Risk function in the completion of regulatory reporting, particularly the Central Credit Register and Anacredit,
• Participate and support ad hoc projects and assignments, including risk management reporting and maintaining wholesale risk policies.
• Promoting quality financial analysis to ensure consistency of data and assist in process checks or reviews of tasks to ensure high quality results.
• Work closely with the diverse areas of the Risk function to support the operational effectiveness of the function.
• Be accountable for supporting the delivery against prescribed targets, budgets and resourcing and responsible for volume, quality, and timeliness of end results.
• Support the culture of driving change initiatives to improve efficiencies in processes and tasks undertaken including delivery against prescribed targets.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Good understanding and knowledge of Risk areas particularly wholesale credit risk and personal lending.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office tools, particularly complex Excel spreadsheets.
• Excellent and demonstrable problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, high motivation, commitment, and a positive can-do attitude.
• Working knowledge of data tools, such as SQL or Python is preferred
• Proven work experience of two (2) years in a banking or financial services environment AND an MQF Level 5 Qualification related to Risk Management, Banking, Finance, Data analysis, or related areas.
OR
Proven work experience of four (4) years in a banking or financial services environment, ideally in data analysis.
