  • The jobholder is responsible for the day-to-day management and training and development needs of any allocated resources.

  • The jobholder is responsible for providing the Income team Manager with formal project reports as required, and regular comprehensive progress reports, highlighting potential problems or issues.

  • The jobholder will be required to deputise for Income Managers as required.

  • To review and monitor data collection and checking reports ensuring that these and all associated tasks are completed to agreed quality and timing targets.

What you’ll do:

  • Will be responsible to manage and supervise a team and interface with senior management on a regular basis.

  • Manage and maintain complete and accurate fund accounting records, specifically in relation to income accruals and receipts, within set timescales.

  • Ensure the timely production of completed cash reconciliations within set deadlines by following up and updating unsettled income entries within the reconciliation system.

  • Identify and resolve high-risk income accrual and receipt items within set timescales.

  • Prepare weekly outstanding reports and analyze ageing items.

  • Liaise with internal and external clients and custodians on day to day issues.

  • Preparation of MIS and compliance reports including breach and error recording.

  • Aim at improving efficiency and quality of income processes.

  • Participate in user acceptance of new/upgraded software as required.

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing and archiving of documents to provide a proper audit trail.

  • To maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

  • To implement the Group Compliance Policy as applicable to your role in conjunction with the relevant Compliance Department.  The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply within India and in relation to the countries migrating work to the assigned GSC.

  • To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures, and the impact of new technology in conjunction with the donor Group companies.

  • Manage the Income Team, ensuring that the department objectives are achieved, and develop an enthusiastic and motivated team.

  • To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

  • Update and maintain all procedural documentation accordingly.

  • To implement Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant Compliance department. The term “compliance” embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

  • To maintain HSBC internal control standards including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Bachelors Degree in accounting . MBA in Finance/CFA/CA preferred

  • Understanding of the overall  NAV pricing process

  • Knowledge of the cash reconciliation process and how Custodians operate.

  • Securities Market, Financial instruments, corporate actions and functioning of Mutual/Hedge fund industry.

  • Educated to degree level and/or Investment related qualification (e.g. Securities Institute Certificate)

  •  At least 3-5 years experience in a Income or Pricing and Valuations environment

  • Ability to plan and organise workload, taking into account relative priorities

  • Strong relationship skills/ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Good knowledge of international investment markets

  • Some experience in a Market Data or Pricing and Valuations environment.

  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred, although candidates without will be catered for under the direct supervision criteria.

  • Experience in dealing with external market sources, brokers, vendors etc.

  • Ability to plan and organise workload to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally

  • Good knowledge of all aspects of international investment markets.

  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, offering assistance to others when required.

  • T&C Competent or working towards achieving that level within 2 years with the SII Institute
