Within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology, Global Disclosures of Interest (GDoI) Operations Team is responsible for monitoring & filing disclosures on behalf of HSBC / HSBC Entities’ positions in Equity & Equity derivatives of listed companies across the Globe. The team also monitors and discloses positions held in EU Countries’ Sovereign Bonds, Credit Default Swaps & Bond derivatives. The monitoring and disclosures are both at an aggregated & entity level based on the Regulations of each of the Countries. The GDoI Team ensures the Group adheres to Regulations which cater to Substantial Shareholding, Short Selling, Takeover & Merger, Sensitive Industries and Companies’ By-laws. The Team also provides a number of services to the global business lines in matters such as but not limited to trade approvals, monitoring adherence to the share dealing restrictions, engagement with external companies in relation to issuer request, address Regulators/Competent Authorities enquiries, Regulatory Compliance enquiries, engage with internal and external legal counsel and any other disclosure related enquiries (internal or external).
The Opportunity:
The Role of Assistant Investigations Manager, GDoI Team includes but is not limited to the following:
To understand varied disclosure regulations across jurisdictions with respect to shareholdings and holdings in sovereign bonds and utilize the knowledge in ensuring the Group’s compliance to the regulations
To have knowledge of capital market including but not limited to various instruments traded, corporate actions and implications of such corporate actions, trade life cycle, various business lines of HSBC, trading and booking models of the business and apply the knowledge in monitoring activity in order to take correct decision.
To perform daily monitoring and investigations ensuring the best quality and adherence to the strict regulatory deadlines
To identify system or data related issues, escalate to the IT Support and DOI Management team.
To ensure accuracy of information shared with the stakeholders / submitted to competent authorities globally.
To ensure appropriate record keeping through case management tool
Instigate escalation procedures for any identified potential regulatory breaches
What you’ll do:
Impact on the Business/Function
Review and analyse the movement in shareholding in accordance with the local regulation of the country.
Identify potential disclosures and investigate to ascertain the validity of the disclosure
Identifying any potential risks and escalate to the Management.
Identify data related issues and escalated them to Management and IT Team. Liaise with them until resolution is implemented
Customers / Stakeholders
Communicate effectively with the stakeholders adhering to the Group’s guidelines
Cultivate a positive and collaborative working environment within the team
Build and maintain close working relationship with various partners’ e.g Business desks, Regulatory Compliance Internal Legal or other stakeholders.
Work as a cohesive team with remote DOI locations
Develop and maintain current knowledge of internal and external Data Governance initiatives and best practices.
Develop general awareness of Compliance Regulatory changes affecting the function
Pro-actively assist Management in identifying and containing operations risk, monitoring, reporting and fostering a positive

Operational Effectiveness & Control
Ensuring procedures and processes are followed for any specific local reporting obligations and that appropriate controls are adhered to
Ensure Procedures (SOPS) are updated and reviewed on a regular basis
Ensure quality, accuracy and timely delivery of work
Ensure completion, control and adherence to SLA’s and PLAs by use of appropriate daily, weekly and monthly checklists
Suggest, implement and monitor preventive measures to ensure improvement in quality
To effectively manage the implementation of reporting tools and guidelines for the process, identifying and escalating issues for resolution as appropriate
Ensure that regulatory and procedural changes are effectively adhered to
To assist in contingency planning for the teams and process
What you will need to succeed in the role:
At least two years of experience in a role relating to monitoring & notifying disclosures in compliance of regulations pertaining to Substantial Shareholding, Short Selling, Takeovers & Mergers & Sensitive Industries
Understanding of the different Business Lines of Financial institutions
Knowledge of Financial Markets specifically Equity & Fixed Income products
Ability to understand various Regulations across the globe
Good command of both verbal and written English
Ability to analyze data from every aspect and arrive at logical conclusions
Eye for detail to ensure accuracy of work
Attention to detail and good analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, management and stakeholders
Excellent time management and prioritization of tasks
Able to deal with a very dynamic business where various factors will have an impact on work. Nature of business is such that any error committed exposes the Group to Financial, Reputational and Operational Risks
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven quick learning capability

What additional skills will be good to have?
Experience in roles within a Risk / Compliance / Regulatory framework / Trade Reporting
Experience in a role that drives IT System enhancements
Excellent Knowledge of MS Office products and demonstrate skills of their use
Detailed understanding of disclosure obligations (from a legal, regulatory and business product perspective
