The Wealth Management department established in 2014, providing efficient and excellent services to Hang Seng Bank customers in Hong Kong. The services include but not limited to Investment Fund administration, Securities, Bonds and other investment products execution and settlement, Corporate Actions processing, data maintenance for investment products and accounts, etc.

 

The Opportunity:  

The role works within a Wealth operations team. It covers a sizeable number of activities supporting the investment lifecycle. Therefore the role will normally have achieved a professional level of competency in their functional area. Specialist process skills, business experience and investment process or investment accounting specialisms are required. Responsible for the day to day processing within Wealth Management middle and back office teams. Applies general skills while developing some specialised skills in Wealth Management operations appropriate to area of specialisation or the team; complex decision making required; works independently; has the ability to establish procedures and/or define instructions. Ensure accuracy of Custody/Third Party reconciliations and reconciliations to the Wealth management systems. Ensures compliance with accounting guidance.   

 

What you’ll do:     

Role and Responsibility:

  • Play the role of subject matter expert in support wealth services related business lines including securities and structured investment products featuring US listed securities.

  • Play the role of an independent contributor stationed in GSC China Wealth team to support, drive and deliver new business initiatives and product developments.

  • Play the role of an subject matter expert to manage product assessment, due diligence, review and operations flow configurations.

  • Play the role to identify new process improvement opportunities and drive re-engineering initiatives to support new business initiatives featuring US securities.

  • Play the role as an operation consultant to co-establish and manage US stock trading activities including Purchase & Sell, Receive & Deliver and Corporate action related matters etc;

  • Play to role of an process owner to design, implement and set service standards, monitor performance and review service benchmarks to ensure effective services for local business units and customers.

  • Play the role to observe and maintain the internal control systems and standards, manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and controls, loss identification and reporting.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:       

  • University Graduate or above in a related discipline or other relevant qualifications, financial or accounting related certificate holder is an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge and working experience in Wealth Management aspect with sound knowledge of investment products.

  • Familiar with the operations of listed securities products in global stock markets (mainly China, Hong Kong and US, etc.), experience with investment compliance regulation is a big advantage.

  • Strong attentiveness to detail, with ability to work independently and under pressure.

  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills using end to end process reviews and data driven analysis.

  • Good experience in Project Management and process improvement initiatives.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and networks across the business.

  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
