We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Corporate & Institutional Banking.
Principal Responsibilities
CIB Banking COO Asia & ME (AME) acts as the Corporate and Institution Banking (CIB) Banking lead incorporating operations, transformation and risk oversight ensuring performance optimization. The Associate Director will support on strategy, data and insights analysis on behalf of the CIB Banking AME team working for Business Director CIB Banking COO. This role will support the Business Director by providing coordination and operational support across critical governance and strategic routines across the business. The role holder will work closely with regional and global teams to provide relevant insights and analysis as required by management team and work closely with Infrastructure and Business management teams on multiple operational and management activities.
In this role you will
- Strong understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group. Strong knowledge of structure and dynamics of CIB and Infrastructure partners
- Manage and maintain the governance requirements including briefing documents, ensuring all actions are completed and be the liaison point for Asia & ME and global CIB governance forums
- Responsible for management meetings and other similar type activities included but not limited to manage client engagement as well as other external and internal engagements, including town halls, colleague engagement events, training and development for leadership team, management team meetings
- Manage KPIs / KRIs and ensure consistent and timely delivery to the Business, for the purpose of assessing and driving improvement across key customer journeys. Work closely with key stakeholder to support the ongoing management and assessment of scorecard metrics, performance monitoring agreed KPIs for CIB Banking head
- Responsible for and lead on large scale (AME and/or Global) client events and entertainment, working closely with Country Heads on invitees, Marketing & Events on logistics (for example GIS, 7s, etc)
- Work with key stakeholders to managed Business Continuity Planning and Major Incident Management impacting CIB Banking AME
- Supporting Business Director and working in collaboration with HR to develop and execute the CIB Banking AME Employee Value Proposition, Cost management initiatives (levers to influence managed costs), capacity management (demand forecasting, impact assessments etc,) and manage all recruitment requests from markets and other Ad hoc CIB Banking related queries / projects / issues resolution
- Promotor of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mind-set, in line with the Group’s values and strategy. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration
To be successful you will need
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers and senior stakeholders and thorough understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes, and objectives
- Proactive and Eager to Learn: A self-starter with a growth mindset, eager to take ownership of tasks and learn from senior colleagues
- Strong prioritisation and control skills, with ability to review and acknowledge when and how to reprioritise, mitigate, or escalate. Practical experience in managing few complex projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment, whilst setting and managing realistic expectations and staying true to the values and strategy of the Group
- Strong financial/accounting acumen and experience working across cultures; Exceptional PowerPoint & excel skills
- Strong stakeholder management, and negotiation ability. Strong interpersonal, communication, and business acumen to directly engage and negotiate consensus directly with business, product, and Global Function
