HSBC Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, invests on behalf of HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions through both segregated accounts and pooled funds. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Institutional Sales.

Principal Responsibilities

  • This role is part of North Asia Institutional client team with focus on understanding present and future client needs, identification of market opportunities, development and execution of sales strategies. The ultimate goal is to help team head to improve client journey with HSBC and contribute to customer growth, revenue growth, increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed objectives and key results
  • The role will form an integral part of the North Asia institutional client coverage proposition and will be responsible for managing and developing institutional business with Hong Kong based clients, with focus on insurance sector, covering local/regional/global insurance clients
  • The coverage universe consists of existing insurance clients with AuM of $2.5bn, and also covering total c.15 prospect insurance clients based in Hong Kong. Insurance sector in HK is our focus with 2025 FRP of Net New Money $350m / Annualized Net New Revenue $700k
  • The role covers all aspects of sales activities, representing HSBC Asset Management, managing existing business as well as developing new clients and originating and executing pipelines, and working with client service and sales support, investment team and product, RFP and operation
Requirements
  • University Degree educated in Finance or related discipline
  • Significant investment knowledge gained in an investment management business or capability-based role
  • Previous experience in client facing or client support role within an asset management business
  • Good understanding of investment products and capabilities
  • Excellent people and communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Team player who can develop relationships at multiple levels
  • Demonstrated experience of making difficult decisions when faced with competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
