The team you’ll work with:

The HSBC Innovation Banking UK, Financial Crime Risk & Controls (FCRC) team is a First Line of Defence (FLOD) team responsible for identifying, investigating and monitoring relationships that pose a money laundering or terrorist financing risk in support of all legal and regulatory requirements relating to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter terrorism financing FCRC also has responsibility for reviewing and assessing Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (AB&C), Tax Transparency, Fraud and Reputational Risk considerations for both existing clients and new prospects 

 
 
The value you’ll add

You will be supporting the Client Selection and Exit Management (CSEM) process and ensuring decisions and supporting evidence through HSBC Innovation Banking UK, Reputational Risk and Client Selection Committee including Criteria Managed and Virtual decisioning are fully documented / acted upon within the underlying Unified Case Management system.

Working closely with FCRC colleagues responsible for reviewing client relationships that meet HSBC Innovation Banking UK, high risk business categories and geographies and performing reviews of existing clients and prospects and undertaking financial crime risk assessment including business and country of interest reviews.

The position involves responsibilities of reviewing and responding to financial crime related queries from the FLOD and supporting Relationship Managers with completion and presentation of reputational risk and client selection committee papers. 
You will be drafting, compiling, and submitting committee papers.

 

 

What you can expect to be doing:

Reviewing and responding to reputational risk considerations from the FLOD and supporting Relationship Managers with completion and presentation of reputational risk and client selection committee papers 

Assisting clients/prospects to ensure compliance with HSBC Innovation Banking’s financial crime and reputational risk.

Escalation of issues in a timely manner for review and resolution in relation to financial crime including knowledge of SAR escalation. 

Assisting with internal ongoing due diligence review escalations regarding client matters covering financial crime and reputational risk considerations 

Working closely with UKFC to seek advice on complex global financial crime matters and serving as the FLOD escalation point of contact for financial crimes activity. 

Requirements

Good knowledge of financial crime legislation including Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing and Sanctions. 

Proven experience in drafting, compiling, and submitting committee papers.

Solid experience related to financial crime compliance risk management processes. 

Good working knowledge of financial crime and/or fraud prevention within the UK regulatory environment. 

Good understanding of a wide range of business sectors and niche sectors of innovation with complex business models.
